If I was advising the Dems and they told me they were intent on pushing impeachment, I would advise them to make absolutely certain they had incontrovertible proof against a serious charge that no reasonable Republican could genuinely oppose. What they have produced after the Russia hoax appears to be yet another hoax. I'd be furious if I was American. The Dems telling us how dangerous the president is have thus far produced diddly squat and are simply pushing one witch hunt after another. There's no way they are rewarded for this in 2020.

Well, thank you for that response because it gives a good glimpse to everybody about the mindset of Democrats. It is that you are not interested in impeaching the President because for that to be successful you need bipartisan support. Therefore this is simply using the constitutional levers of government as a new platform to conduct the next witch hunt against the President which is egregious. What a terrible waste of public time and money. Just watch: the Dems will be routed in 2020. I look forward to your laughing faces then...

It really isn't a smart idea, but worse than that it was a totally brainless decision. Now the Democrats will carry the can for the botched and failed attempt to remove the President as well his failure to actually achieve anything for the next 12 months when all they had to do was wait for an election in 11 months time.

Politicians deciding that they didn't like what the public voted for didn't exactly go down well in this country as shown by the landslide election victory for Conservatives. It will go down just as badly in the US. Since the Dems have rather foolishly been calling for the president's impeachment since the moment he was sworn in, it makes it difficult to accept anything they are alleging against him (and easy to label anything they do produce as partisan attacks). Indeed when reading their so called allegations against the President they are circumstantial and uncorroborated by enough credible sources. If I was a senator, there's not a chance I would support the impeachment. .
