It really isn't a smart idea, but worse than that it was a totally brainless decision. Now the Democrats will carry the can for the botched and failed attempt to remove the President as well his failure to actually achieve anything for the next 12 months when all they had to do was wait for an election in 11 months time.
Politicians deciding that they didn't like what the public voted for didn't exactly go down well in this country as shown by the landslide election victory for Conservatives. It will go down just as badly in the US. Since the Dems have rather foolishly been calling for the president's impeachment since the moment he was sworn in, it makes it difficult to accept anything they are alleging against him (and easy to label anything they do produce as partisan attacks). Indeed when reading their so called allegations against the President they are circumstantial and uncorroborated by enough credible sources. If I was a senator, there's not a chance I would support the impeachment. .

CO2 doesn't actually have much to do with the initial warming when coming out of an ice-age; that warming has to do with Milankovitch cycles; these cycles mix hot and cold ocean water and also alternate across hemispheres; this results in off-gassing of CO2, which then can lead to--or cause--warming trends until the next M cycle which can cause an ice age.
Your statement, "the only long term analysis of the temp/co2 relationship comes from 800 years of ice core samples and they irrefutably show co2 rise FOLLOWS temp rise and therefore CANNOT be causative" is incorrect as most of the increases in warming trends were preceded by increases in global CO2, as this graph shows (blue = temperature; yellow dots = CO2; red = ice core temperature). A few additional things to note: 1) CO2 can both lead and lag temperature--no one denies this, but the mechanisms of temperature warming is causally linked to CO2 increases by various means and doesn't solely rely on ice cores, 2) CO2 trends are measured in various ways, not just using ice-core records, and ice-core records don't always speak to global trends in warming, there are other way to measure past temperatures, 3) the time-scales for warming/cooling and CO2 in the past have little to say about the massive uptick in warming over the last 100 years, and 4) exactly how many "name" climate scientists (whatever that means) did you ask and why don't you post your and their responses here to so that you can expose them all for the coward/sham scientists that they are?
