Current Affairs Donald Trump POS: Judgement cometh and that right soon

Can we though, can I or anyone really criticize someone whose skin colour is even slightly off white and not be instantly called a racist? The left's obsession with race, the overwhelming majority of whom are white as a sheet, and whose circle of friends, even work colleagues, don't include a single black or brown person, is shutting down free speech in every corner of society. I'm making this point because it goes back to Trump's tweet which was predictably jumped on by the usual desperate to be outraged crowd, most of whom didn't even bother to read the full tweet. They never do unless they can frame it negatively. He was telling these congresswomen to go back to Puerto Rico, which is where OAC's parents are from, and go back to Somalia, which is where Omar is from, because their views are totally at odds with mainstream American values. They want socialism. They oppose America's close ties with Israel. Poll after poll still says Americans don't actually want socialism though, especially when it's explained to them what it would actually mean. They also say America should continue to support Israel. I will repeat again, it is not racist to tell people who bitch about America to leave. As an immigrant myself, If I bitched about America to my yank mates over and over, I'm pretty sure I'd get the go home comments sooner or later. Would that also be racist?
This is not a respectful response. It is commentary filled with strawmen and ridiculous generalizations straight out of right-wing talk radio incendiary bombast.

BTW, Puerto Rico is a territory of the United States. People born there are US citizens. Perhaps you did not know this and it would help matters if you recognized, as an immigrant, that you are not anywhere near as well versed in the history of race relations in this country (or what constitutes mainstream values) as I or most American citizens participating in the conversation.

Of course white people can criticize brown or black people and vice versa without being called racist! The only reason you would ask this kind of question is if you do not interact with people of color. If you did, you would find you could amicably disagree. Or maybe not. Perhaps you are a disagreeable sort or a racist. But I'm going to guess you simply do not interact with folks who are not like you.

Not a single person referenced in the POTUS' tweet advocates for the government taking over the means of production of all goods. Please don't bore me with such inanity. Seriously. BTW, Medicare is insanely popular and nearly 60% of the population believes the government should be responsible for ensuring all people have health coverage.

The people referenced in the POTUS' tweet do not necessarily want to cut ties with Israel, they oppose specific policies of the US and Israel. That's not disrespectful and is allowable in a democratic nation. Certainly not worthy of a cry by the leader of the nation for a specific few who disagree with his preferred policy to depart our nation.

Now, be respectful and answer my question. Why has the POTUS not asked Bernie Sanders to go back to his country?

Can we though, can I or anyone really criticize someone whose skin colour is even slightly off white and not be instantly called a racist?
Yes. Glad we cleared that up.

The left's obsession with race, the overwhelming majority of whom are white as a sheet, and whose circle of friends, even work colleagues, don't include a single black or brown person,
Data please

is shutting down free speech in every corner of society.
No, it’s not.

This “free speech is dead” argument gets bleated a lot. Often on discussion shows (both tv and radio) that are specifically commissioned to allow people to have a platform to air the very speech they are complaining is being shut down.

What people ACTUALLY mean, of course, when they talk about free speech, is the freedom of that speech from any and all scrutiny.

I'm making this point because it goes back to Trump's tweet which was predictably jumped on by the usual desperate to be outraged crowd, most of whom didn't even bother to read the full tweet. They never do unless they can frame it negatively. He was telling these congresswomen to go back to Puerto Rico, which is where OAC's parents are from, and go back to Somalia, which is where Omar is from,
Well done! You FINALLY figured it out! He was telling 3 women of colour to go BACK to countries that they are not from. That is racism.

because their views are totally at odds with mainstream American values. They want socialism. They oppose America's close ties with Israel.
No, they oppose various Israeli policies.

Poll after poll still says Americans don't actually want socialism though, especially when it's explained to them what it would actually mean.
Poll results please, plus the details of how “socialism” (which as we know, in today’s usage, is a pretty broad spectrum) was explained within these polls.

They also say America should continue to support Israel. I will repeat again, it is not racist to tell people who bitch about America to leave.
I’m pretty sure “bitching about America” is one of the fundamental building blocks of america’s history. Oh, and as we’ve established, he didn’t just tell them to leave - he specifically singled out four WOC and told them to go BACK TO WHERE YOU CAME FROM

As an immigrant myself, If I bitched about America to my yank mates over and over, I'm pretty sure I'd get the go home comments sooner or later. Would that also be racist?
1) You’re an immigrant. Three of them are not.
2) your “yank mates” aren’t the President of the United States.

But on a personal note, given your opinions as espoused on here, I hope they don’t tell you to go back to where you came from. I’d sooner you stayed a few thousand miles away.

I've been reading through this read for the last 20 or so pages. Trying to take a completely impartial view (not easy in a thread dedicated to the POTUS), the only possible conclusion I can come to, you're really not very smart, are you @St. Domingo?

He was telling these congresswomen to go back to Puerto Rico, which is where OAC's parents are from, and go back to Somalia, which is where Omar is from, because their views are totally at odds with mainstream American values

Lol, only took us 10 times of asking you absolute donk. At least we've come a some way from you insisting he said nothing of the kind in his tweet and that I was reading it wrong

Just wondering mate, where do you think he was talking about when he told AOC and those Congresswomen to go back where they are from?

Where was your outrage when at least 2 of them were being anti-Semitic? Probably the same place you were last weekend when Panorama were uncovering the true extent of anti-Semitism in Labour. 2 of the congresswomen, who I doubt you or anyone in the UK had heard of 2 days ago, have a history of it - and that's Trump point. His tweet was directed at them because they're the most vocal about hating Israel, about wanting socialism for America. The question Trump posed in his tweet: "If you are not happy here (because there's not enough free stuff and it's too pro-Israel for you), then you can leave" is perfectly valid and lots of Americans would agree with it

Hey mate, he didn't tell them to leave, he told them to go back where they are from. Where do you think he meant?

You again o_O

Why are you posting in the middle of the night? Can I see a pic of your local newspaper to check you're not a multi?

I'm not defending anyone. I'm defending the message behind it. If you invited someone around your house and they started slagging it off, saying it needed all this stuff you didn't like, you'd probably tell them to leave. How is that racist?

He told them to go back where they are from. Which is America, but he's now telling them to leave America. Is he a bit confused? Really seems like he was implying something else

You're playing the man instead of the ball

Put the racist card down, it needs a rest. It probably needs more laminate the amount of use it gets

Now, read Trump's tweet in full, not just the bits you want to be all offended about

There's a message there if you can breath and read at the same time. Give it a try, then come back to me

Ok?

"So interesting to see 'Progressive' Democrat Congresswomen, who originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe, the worst, most corrupt and inept anywhere in the world (if they even have a functioning government at all), now loudly ... and viciously telling the people of the United States, the greatest and most powerful Nation on earth, how our government is to be run. Why don't they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came"
Where do you think he was talking about friend?

Also would really like to know how I misread this message, I'm sure @St. Domingo has some sort of answer involving the Clintons or John Cusack or something

Interesting that you @St. Domingo have posted 4 or 5 times since being asked a really simple question, and have twisted yourself into knots to avoid doing so.

Let’s try it again.

When Trump said that these women (notice he was talking MULTIPLE women) should go back to where they came from (which as much as you keep imploring people to ‘go back and read the tweets’, IS what he said) - which countries do you think he was implying that they should go “back” to?

Although would love on answer on that question you keep avoiding before you do

Cussack tweeted something every bit as offensive as anything Trump has ever tweeted. It's not about Cussack though, it's the hypocrisy of it. All triggered at Trump's tweets but deadly silence when the left are being anti-Semitic. I say again, if Trump is a racist, then Omar is an anti-Semite

Lol, John Cusack again.
Anyway mate, you seem to have missed my question about Trump's tweet earlier, despite me having repeated it a number of times

Don't mind me everyone, I'm just charting St. Domingo's epic struggle with acknowledging words that Donald Trump posted on the internet for everyone to see and quietly accepting it in the middle of a screed hoping that nobody was looking a day or two later. I think this lad would make for a great study in cognitive dissonance

Just as Trump's tweet has been framed to fit a narrative of racism when it makes zero reference to anyone's colour, at absolute worst it's xenophobic. Telling someone to leave the country because all they do is bitch about it is not racism
It is, you are asking some to go back where they came from because of their skin colour, you are condoning racism, you are a racist and everyone here can see it.
