I don't believe Trump is racist, however, he is far worse on a number of points in my opinion.

It goes against his economic principles to be racist as people are just commodities to enrich him, their identity is just indifference of no consequence.

Trump plays with opinion and ideology for his own gain, he has no conviction or belief apart from his own legacy. He will foolishly engage with dog whistle politics because he needs to politicly engage with those Americans who are racists, who have correctly been increasingly disinfranchised from American politics from the 50s.

However, the trouble with any racist wherever they come from they are snarling full of loathing and will happily bite the hand that feeds them, they always do. Trump letting them in on democracy will come at price, as they will want their say and more, as always. Which I suspect is what is happening!

Intelligent post, tend to agree with a lot of it. I don't think Trump's a racist, either. People forget he's 73. He's from another generation. I've been around elderly relatives whose views are a bit dodgy, who plenty on this thread would be shouting racist at. But they're not racists. They're just from another era. Mostly white people trying to compete with each other on being outraged at Trump serves no purpose other than to blur the lines between what's actually racist and what's just ignorant or something else. I say again as I've said several times on this thread, telling people to leave the country when all they do is bitch about America is not racist. The fact everyone's calling it racist says a lot about them - the idea you can no longer have a pop at a black or brown person for the guff they say is a problem

The other generation thing isnt an excuse. Many scholars and experts I'm human behaviour have already debunked this. Not that they need to it's common sense.

I dont know about you but I am guessing nearly all off us know people 70 plus who dont talk the way he does. There are a few members on this forum who are pushing that age and they dont talk like him either.

The generation excuse was always use to absolve grandparents and great grandparents for their racist remarks. People who wouldn't admit their loved one may have been just racist.

Also as several people have posted is a link with every word he has said over the many years that is clearly racist but you choose to ignore it.

If you apologise or defend racism it says a lot about you. Making excuses for his behaviour makes you complicit. This from the same person claiming that those Democrats are anti semites.

Using your standards, Bernie has given him every reason to do so since he's critical of Trumpian policies and the health care system in the United States. So why hasn't Cheeto Tweeter suggested Bernie go back to his native shithole country? Lemme clue you in: because Bernie is a white male.

Every person with an understanding of race relations in the United States (which you may not be aware of given you are not an American) understands well the intent behind "go back to your country".

I, you or anyone can "have a pop" at someone else for what they say or do. It's called a disagreement on an issue and disagreements can be had with respect.

Claiming a judge cannot be partial because he has Mexican heritage is not respectful, it is racist. Telling people to go back to their shithole country because they do not agree with you politically is racist dog-whistle crap with a long, long history in this country and is not to be excused because the person saying it is "old".

I, you or anyone can "have a pop" at someone else for what they say or do. It's called a disagreement on an issue and disagreements can be had with respect.

Claiming a judge cannot be partial because he has Mexican heritage is not respectful, it is racist. Telling people to go back to their shithole country because they do not agree with you politically is racist dog-whistle crap with a long, long history in this country and is not to be excused because the person saying it is "old".

Can we though, can I or anyone really criticize someone whose skin colour is even slightly off white and not be instantly called a racist? The left's obsession with race, the overwhelming majority of whom are white as a sheet, and whose circle of friends, even work colleagues, don't include a single black or brown person, is shutting down free speech in every corner of society. I'm making this point because it goes back to Trump's tweet which was predictably jumped on by the usual desperate to be outraged crowd, most of whom didn't even bother to read the full tweet. They never do unless they can frame it negatively. He was telling these congresswomen to go back to Puerto Rico, which is where OAC's parents are from, and go back to Somalia, which is where Omar is from, because their views are totally at odds with mainstream American values. They want socialism. They oppose America's close ties with Israel. Poll after poll still says Americans don't actually want socialism though, especially when it's explained to them what it would actually mean. They also say America should continue to support Israel. I will repeat again, it is not racist to tell people who bitch about America to leave. As an immigrant myself, If I bitched about America to my yank mates over and over, I'm pretty sure I'd get the go home comments sooner or later. Would that also be racist?

If it has nothing to do with race why then does it not call out and tell people like Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders, who both share a lot of the views as the 4 congresswomen, to go back where they came from?
