Current Affairs Donald Trump POS: Judgement cometh and that right soon

Last time I saw numbers published he had ~90% approval amongst republicans...

Even with a fairly healthy margin of error, that doesn't leave many of the "hold their nose brigade"

Care to source that? Not that I doubt you, I'm sure a poll can exist with that result. I'd just like to see the methodology. Margin or error is important but a lot of other factors exist that would be important in how that result came about, and maybe false.

But I do see these Trump supporters that you and @abelard speak of. They ask people to take it easy on the guy, stop making a big deal of everything, and I'm like, did you guys see what you did to Obama for 8 years?

They do exist but for them to make up 90% of a population, I'd just like to know what that population is compromised of.

I think they certainly swung the election, but they're a relatively small percentage of his support base - which consists primarily of more or less conventional Republicans.

Long-time Republican voters, who have traditionally been older, whiter, wealthier, and better educated than average, absolutely worship him.

Hillary/Schumer's folly was to assume that the Dems could ignore the people you're describing, and win a crushing landslide by sweeping the much larger cohort of people I'm describing. Chuckles's famous imaginary Philadelphia suburbanites, in other words.

The outcome of that particular gamble is why the notion of principled non-Trump conservatives is so laughable now (notwithstanding @Yank's no-doubt sincere and committed support for Bloomberg/Starbucks 2020).

Can't tell if you're taking a shot at me or complimenting me here, but either way it's all fair and love man.

It’s from gallup’s weekly tracking.

He’s 87% this week. He was at 90 3 weeks ago.

Does anyone else find the descriptor “illegals” kind of gross and belittling?

Maybe it’s just my lefty liberalism showing through, but when you’re (for the most part) talking about people who risk a lot (often everything they have) to come to a country where they think they and their kids have a better chance of growing up to be something other than dead, I feel like they deserve describing as a group in some slightly less dismissive way.

Have you found out what CNN stands for yet

I see the Democrats are calling for the abolishment of ICE and Trump is giving them full backing. I agree with Trump on this does anyone believe that the Dems are right about this. Would make a big difference in the removal of illegals..

do you know when ICE was founded?
There's no reason for their existence. They do nothing INS couldn't do.
Asylum seekers aren't illegal.

Recent under Bush? Got a few links saying how they have got rid of a few undesirables.

What do I do to link them in here

No he's not it's quite the opposite.

As for his fear mongering reasons as to why we couldn't abolish them its just bs quite frankly. He firmly believes they are a terrorist task force and not an illegal alien task force.

This whole MS13 stuff is not even remotely true and overblown by him.

Does he forget there are multiple agencies in the US that already handle law enforcement.

In his tweets he saying not to abolish them I’ll try to link it. From what I know they were first introduced as a terrorist force yes. MS13 do look scary is it overblown, probably a touch but if it tracks hem and kicks them out or locks them up, it’s not a bad thing!

2003 as part of the patriot act laws.
So can you tell me what they do that INS cant?
and can I ask you to stop refering assylum seekers as 'illegals'
Yeah but shouldn’t asylum seekers go through proper channels instead of entering the country “illegally”? Nobody publishes the stories about the genuine needy who do get in by following the proper process. It is quite high in the USA people seem to ignore this

This is simple stuff.
Trump promised his base that he would draw down troop numbers in Afghanistan/Iraq/Syria. This hasn't happened. In fact the numbers (particularly in Afghanistan) have increased. Knowing this won't play well with a chunk of his base, Trump has banned the Pentagon from releasing troop numbers.
A major tactic for the republicans over the last few decades has been to keep the base energized with a divisive issue like war. Pick a patriotic issue, get the base fired up by painting the other side as 'unAmerican' and hey presto, division and an empowered active base.
Well, Trump ran on a ticket of trimming spending on foreign wars but that hasn't happened and doesnt play well with his 'promises made, promises kept' shtick so he has to look for another angle to separate the people and energies his base, he tried a few different angles before settling on immigration.
It didn't take much to do it, some incredibly divisive language and Dickensian rules and hey presto, a nation divided, a base energized, and all it took was locking some kids in cages.
What ever news outlets you're reading, stop reading them because they are polluting your mind.

Right which is the opposite of what the democrats want.

They were not introduced to removed terrorists. The definition of ICE is Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

They were created to handle the removal of "illegal aliens"

Seriously you just make it up as you go along.

Ms13 are not a threat in this country and have nopt been for a long time and thats got nothing to do with ICE. Do some of them live here still yes yes they do. But they are not some suddent threat to our safety. No police force nor federal agency sees them as a threat.
