This simply isnt true and shows how uninformed and out of touch you are with this type of stuff affecting people in the US.
The problem is the conservatives are directing traffic and Trumps administration ignores the legitmate information and "stories" and likes to make it up claiming they are all illegal, murderers, rapists, gang members etc...
It's why they are going after legitimate visa like the lottery which in its very design was to help the needy you mention. Anything to stop "undesirables" from countries they do not approve off.
Local news agencies and groups always tell good natured stuff about immigrants to this land. Especially in the regions on the border.

You are right it doesn't make sense because who in their right mind coming from a troubled nation would choose these countries to "sneak into" as you put it.
You think they purposely work for cash? That that is their end game? Many of them wish to stay here and will do any job to get paid whatever they can to strive to do better for themselves and their family. Is it technically wrong yes of course they came here without visas.
But to make it seem so black and white like you do shows your ignorance on the topic
If you're fleeing because your family is in danger and fear for their lives, sure. If I thought my family were about to be killed I'd move them to the safest place in the region and apply for asylum. If that meant committing a misdemeanor, so be it.

It’s not ignorance, one can simply just decide to walk into another country, there would be chaos imagine if 4 billion people from struggling areas just decided to go and do that. You have to have laws. By all means help them in their countries with infrastructure and maybe ridding them of their ridiculous countries debts to the west. But there must be some order

I stayed in cayman tower in the Dubai marina, loads of building work was going on and yeah the conditions were terrible for them, temps were mid 40’s (July) I struggled to walk to the little supermarket 10 mins away never mind working for 10 hrs in those conditions. At least my work had copious amounts of air con.
