Had a great uncle who was ,briefly, on Everton's books as they say. Unfortunately World war 1 intervened. He was gassed (at Ypres I believe ) and subsequently died.

Used to play 5 a side with Ted Sagar's grandson. My nan knew Dixie Dean when he was at Tranmere, I think. Van der Meyde lived across the road from my in-laws.

Seriously ? If so , Thank from the bottom of my heart.
Met him once when I was out with my uncle one day and he flipped us the bird when we wished him luck.

The only other player I met away from the Park is Beardsley. I approached him in Durham when he was doing a charity thing and I told him I was a big fan. He didn't look interested at all until I told him I was an Evertonian. His face lit up and he seemed genuinely pleased that someone asked him about his Everton days.

That's it sorry.

...growing up in the 60s my folks were on 'the Committee' of Everton Supporters Club in City Road so it was a regular pre and post match haunt for me. Indeed, on the night we won the League in 1970 I was in there and Alan Ball sir let me hold Alan Balls winners medal.

I was fortunate enough to play at Goodison and alongside/against many Everton players. I'm also reminded that Dave Hickson managed a side I played for, he once asked me to play in a Charity Match alongside the likes of him, Temple, Brian Harris et al which was a nice experience.

I'm so envious , although holding Ball's medal was great enough you had a chance to work with Hickson. I had a tour with him a decade ago and he was so nice and so proud . One big burly fella mentioned how he was one of the original hardmen strikers and Hickson told this big [Poor language removed] off explaining that his reputation was unfair and not true. The big [Poor language removed] was scared for his life.

Which of those brilliant players in the charity side impressed you most, skillfully and personally ?

Thanks mate i need fans and support people that want me to succeed. I need this oppurtunity in my life. Then I'll be some peoples here comnection to the club. They'll remember that American named Everton who came on GOT and earned a spot in the club the hard way.
