Do we need an anthem?

Its completely natural for fans who want to sing to want to be by other fans who want to sing. Thats how it works.

You stick fans who arent interested in it it dilutes the atmosphere. Surrounding the section youll generally get fans who want to be by an atmosphere but not necessarily contribute, or just want to now and then.

Fans sing at appropriate times usually, that's how it really works.

Singing because you're in a singing section is phoney - like that Palace lot.

Ultra Curvas and singing sections are so alien to the culture of our game here. It's way too self-conscious. Fans setting themselves up as super-fans.

So during the terrace years and unreserved seating years, when fans who liked to sing stood by each other that was phoney and alien to our game???

All a singing section is, is ticket allocation to allow like minded fans to be by each other. It is nothing more than that. Having allocated seats upon purchase makes that harder to do.

Different fans have different ideas as to when they want to sing, or when appropriate to sing.

The Park End and Street End had different cultures - equally fanatic but different ways of supporting the club. And people drifted in and out of thier concentrated areas as they wished.

My point is that fans find their own independent way to a culture: creating dedicated areas are laughably embarrassing.

People dont have to get tickets for ever in an area though do they? They could tickets in there whenever they want.

The culture of singing exists and fans want to do that. However ticketing prevents them from doing that so they cant find their way to it can they? If they turn up and they are intersected by a goup of fans who have no interest in their culture then their culture will not happen.

That's right. So what are the chances of the club creating a dedicated section like they do for families but for chanting?

Zero I would have thought...especially if they smelled a rat and that such a section could be the basis for protest as it has been in other stadiums.

Well thats a different issue whether they would or not

I actually like Forever Everton just before kick off and the way the crowd carry it on when the tannoy goes off. You can actually hear how loud the stadium with everyone in full voice.
Everton is the team that plays beautiful football is clearly a lie while the dugout dinosaur still stalks the club.

That’s entirely correct, but there would appear to be a number of less asinine threads that allow for comment, wit and discussion.

Sometimes less is more.

I guess my real grumble is a plethora of such threads during empty football weekends, this was just one too many for me. And in case you did not notice, I was indeed commenting, exactly what a forum is for! Or is my opinion invalid, because I think the thread notion on this occasion is somewhat contemptible?

Without comments, there would not be a forum either. Touché.
Get over it mate. Not that deep.

...yes, but a consideration.

I dont imagine EFC Stadium Management Co Ltd will be predisposed to setting up an Everton Green Brigade, for example.
A general sale area was suggested to them beforehand with one potential use being an area for those who want to start songs off could go into.

One idea would have been that no one had ticket ownership in the area but season ticket holders could tempotarily move their ticket into there for free as often as they wanted, with unsold to members.

Or other uses could be to give it to pay in on the gate youth so they could go in and be by each other.

Sure theres loads of other uses too. It was ignored anyway, meaning if any scheme did happen it would involve displacing ST holders
