Do we need an anthem?

A general sale area was suggested to them beforehand with one potential use being an area for those who want to start songs off could go into.

One idea would have been that no one had ticket ownership in the area but season ticket holders could tempotarily move their ticket into there for free as often as they wanted, with unsold to members.

Or other uses could be to give it to pay in on the gate youth so they could go in and be by each other.

Sure theres loads of other uses too. It was ignored anyway, meaning if any scheme did happen it would involve displacing ST holders
I'm sure there must be some concern over segregating the stadium with away sections; family sections; sections for those with mobility or visual issues. More on top of that would make maybe for more niche experiences, but would not add to the holistic experience.

Football’s changing around us. Years ago having flags was branded as Kopite behaviour but the 1878’s have been around for a few years now.

Everton is something unique to us all but everyone has their own view on what Everton means to them.

I’m old enough to remember the “what the fudge?!” when z cars was binned off for Bad Moon Rising in a game against QPR when Mike Walker was in charge back in ‘94.

Tifo’s, flags, anthems etc the problem is we’re not innovating, we’re just copying.
And maybe that’s what we need to do to evolve, or maybe it isn’t?

Maybe Changy or Mr Testicles should be resurrected only to be dragged out and garotted in front of the South Stand as a sacrifice to the great Everton Gods.
You wouldn’t see that at Selhurst Park or the San Siro

Singing is a niche interest. Always has been. As crap jokes go, you could say theyre a vocal minority...
Considering 1% of the crowd is 500, we may even be looking at 0.05% tops. So when fans argue for an area in general theyre up against 99.5% of the crowd who have probably never started a song off in their life, and probably do not understand the dynamics of it.

Tell me abar it, I used to try and get Celtic-Rangers chants off in the Park End and ended up with beacon cheeks.

Yes with the new stadium we needed a whole new fresh start. I said this long before we moved, the sirens and Z-Cars wouldn't be long losing appeal. It's hardly indimatating when the game starts and silence. Think it definitely plays a part in performances. I would have been in favor of a real singing chanting section similar to the Section at Celtic personally. Maybe not as visible as that but I would have had a section where a student section or under 30s or something could sit.

I'd love if we came out to ACDC, Metallica or Black Sabbath or something. Heads would fall off 😂
Agree we desperately need a singing section. Got to be getting all the like minded individuals together like an away.
Not a fan of a forced 'anthem' though. Cringe sing along at the beginning will do nothing to lift the players.

How about this:

To the tune of FLOWER OF SCOTLAND (sort of - though not following the full tune):

YOU ARE MY EVERTON

MY HEART AND SOUL

YOU'RE WITH ME WHEREVER I ROAM.

ON THE BANKS OF THE MERSEY

IT'S THERE WHERE MY HEART WILL BE

WITH EVERTON.

👋 👋

The unified clapping by the Icelandic fans is awe inspiring so at the end of the chant two unified claps (like two drum beats) could work well. Or even claps at the end of each line.

This would be a chant which would unique to Everton and where we find ourselves now with the stadium on the banks of the Mersey. 10,000 people in the South Stand singing something like this as an anthem and followed by unified claps would be something to stir the heart.

PS If anyone can expand on the lyrics to follow the whole song then please feel free to suggest any version that works. But this shortened version is simpler.
