Well if there was that many agents involved then Im glad we didnt sign him, imagine the fees!!

I bow to your superior "knowledge" I doubt any agent associated with Ba would publicly say anything regarding his knee problem so I'm not sure thats a reliable sauce mates

How can you justify saying that lad , he's scored about 18 goals and 8 last half season at West Ham there's only Van Persy scored more , think about what your saying he cost nothing but wages and agent fee's , if you sign a top forward from this league you have to pay a big massive fee , Agents fee's and Wages , and he still won't score as many goals as big Demba

I see where you're coming from but he wouldn't hold it up, wouldn't win in the air and is brushed off the ball with force less than last night's wind. Plus he's as slow as Titus Bramble trying to run away from the scene of the crime with his pants round his ankles.

I wouldn't go for him as a lone striker but he would keep the option of being able to go back to a 5 midfield, not much different to Cahill really. Just seems stupid having a player of his ability sat there doing nothing whilst we are looking for options.

Being a lightweight might help us get a free kick or 2. I know he looks like the Russian mafia have lined his boots with concrete but didn't his stats say he was the quickest at the club or was new year just a bit heavy?

Desperation is the word I'm looking for I guess...

It's a fact that he's scored more goals than our whole team has at Goodison , capital letters or not Gordon Brown

Granted, and nobody can argue with what is a very impressive record... but all those goals -more than our entire team at Goodison - weren't scored while in front of our team at Goodison... just saying, like.

I'd have loved for us to take him on, we're not in as fortunate a financial position as the Barcodes with regards to taking risks on players who may be prone to crockage... if only because we can't afford the extra table in the treatment room.

Some really silly opinions on here with this.

What the hell is he supposed to do? Dealing with balls ****ted up to him in gale force winds? Even Messi would struggle with that.

He has shown flashes of being good but lets not forget this team is struggling big time right now. You cant expect him to just come in and be brilliant.

This ^^^ adding that he had to climb the north face of Zat Knight with Saha for support, also someone said earlier that he was off the pace, what pace was that then?

Yes but we cant afford to pay him 80K a week, 4 lots of agents fees (allegedly) and the cost of his insurance. If you havent noticed we are skint. Doubt he wopuld recieved anything like the same midfleld support he gets here so doubt he would have the same number of goals with us. I rate him I think hes a good player just not worth the financial risk

Sure Ba probably wouldn't score as much in front of our ****arse defe....sorry midfield but he'd defo score more than our ****arese midf...sorry attack cause he looks like just the kind of striker we need up front.

Hard to say whther that would of been worth it or not but we'd be doing better in the table now mor than likely.

And now where paying the consequences for signing a big Argy Mong instead , you make your bed in life and lie init unfortunately and Moyesy and Bill must do just that , and can't moan when there's 29,000 at the game

Ok back on straq - someone mentioned we shouldnt have got rid of beckford is this the same guy that leicester are now trying to off load as hes not very good. 2nd pt is this alleged trial straq had with leicester- well cantona had a trial with sheff wed before he went to leeds and they decided if wasnt up to it. All i am saying is give the guy a chance. No player has come straight from south america and done well straight away

i haven't put it on this thread but i believe that selling beckford was a massive mistake. would offer £2m for him now if we have it. scored 10 in 18 starts last season and got better as was going along. just that he wasn't a moyes player. tbh straq doesn't have a touch. ill give him his dues that he works hard and hes enthusiastic but he wont cut it im afraid.

You are kidding right? Beckford has scored 2 in the championship this season which is why leicester are wanting rid. Hes not good enough 4 a mid table team in a division below so why would we want him back. Most people at everton are rubbing their hands for off loading him for so much

The top and bottom of it is , if you want to improve above 11 th place in the league , you need better strikers than Dennis and Beckford , neither would get anywhere near the ****e's or Spurs B team never mind their starting 11s as for Mc Fadden too , we really are ****e

You are right there Xavi. Shame though as I think Beckford was a decent sort and may have been an ok squad player if not a first choice striker for us. However, selling the Yak for half what we got for Beckford says it all. As Blackburn are showing...put someone along side Yakubu so that he isn't having to take on a whole back line and the lad will score goals. DM only ever really played him up front alone (sometimes with a token midfielder pushed a few yards up to make it look like we had two attackers on the pitch) and wanted him to track back and defend deep too much. Had we given him and Beckford ten games together to find a rapport and a rhythm we may have been surprised. DM won't ever take a gamble like that though.

I'd be half surprised if we're not playing this soon:

4-6-0

------------------------Usual defence-------------------

Donovan--- Osman--- Fellaini--- Rodwell--- Billy--- Drenthe

....actually, that's not a bad team :o
