Guarantee you that Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, the ****e wouldn't touch him and neither should we. Some Russian club/PSG/Malage will probs bid stupid money for him in the summer but thats their risk

You're right mate. I think the loss last night (something I couldn't get my head around how bad some of our players played) played with my mind.

To be fair knee injuries are really really difficult.

Any specialist giving an opinion on Ba to Everton, and he signed for us and then broke down would better have very very very good Personal and Professional Indemnity insurance! (I'm talking £40million +)

So its very likely the specialists simply wouldn't of been able to give any guarantees. Hence no go.

Could of become a right mess. We'd of had to sue any specialist and then gone to court to get any sort of compensation itself risky.... and costly!

*whistles*

80 grand a week for a potential breakdown is a mighty expensive risk. A 4.1 million per year risk to be precise.

5% of club turnover.

Most top goal scorer's come with a price tag of 18 m then theirs the 85k per week , they paid nothing for him and he's earning 65k a week , they will sell him for about 15 m minimum, Matt adress it up which ever way you want Mr Lord Sugar we lost out big time, I don't care about rumours of insurance Newcastle got what was needed and knew they would get goals , it's kept them in the premier league this season which will cost quadruple the cost of knee insurance, stick to talking about Gross profit and income Matt that's your strengths fella

Dress what up?

It is 5% of club turnover. i.e. a lot of money for this club.

Would you go out and put your car on a poker game tonight? No you wouldn't.

Especially if CJ's comments about the insurance were true. It could of been disasterous. In total it could of cost this club £12million if it was a 3 or 4 year contract.

Matt listen mate ....... You can't argue , a football club is all about gambles mate , only the brave succeed , I told every single person on this site I'd hang my kneck on the line with this lad, dig my posts up if you want , Joleon Lescott had worse knees than anyone in football , we where brave took a gamble and made 20m profit and benefited big time from a top draw centre half , Demba ba's knees are perfect mate he battered goals in for Hoffieniam up till Crimbo last season, then battered them in for West Ham untill the summer , he was there on a free , I said the club should do everything because there's no better deal out there , I said I promise you this lad will wallop the goals in , and he's proved me 100% right , I'am not interested in rumours about insurance payments because I know the stumbling block was agent fee's nothing to do with his knees, I spoke to big Dennis StaquaAngel ex agent all about it , we missed out mate NO ARGUMENTS

Ba wanted a massive signing-on fee and wages beacuse he knew this would be his one big move into the Prem on a permanent basis. No on else would touch him, even though his record is impressive

I'm sure that was the argument at RBS and the other banks before the crash lid.

Calculated risks yes. Ridiculous risks no.

Demba ba's knees are perfect mate he battered goals in for Hoffieniam up till Crimbo last season, then battered them in for West Ham untill the summer

If I listened to you and took him and his knees weren't perfect you better have Indemnity insurance lid as I'd sue your arse back to the stone age if he broke down due to bad knees.

Lescott was probably a gamble the club could afford. I doubt the signing on fee and wages were anything like what Ba wanted and therefore it's not really worth comparing the two.

Also Lescott is a poor example as his knee problem was a footballing injury which was repaired successfully whereas Ba's issue is a degenerative, genetic problem. Makes no sense for a club to sign him. Our medicals are rigourious anyway after the Sean Davis debacle a few years back

Actually he was knee-capped for taking liberties with the poontang of a Wolverhampton gangsters Mrs but your point still stands.

Some really silly opinions on here with this.

What the hell is he supposed to do? Dealing with balls ****ted up to him in gale force winds? Even Messi would struggle with that.

He has shown flashes of being good but lets not forget this team is struggling big time right now. You cant expect him to just come in and be brilliant.

I do think he is the best option we have right now but that doesnt say much really. He is certainly no worse than the other strikers we have.

I agree with this ^ ^ except that He shouldn't be starting imo, hes a good impact player to come on with 20 mins to go when we need a goal and he can play with his back to goal, win headers and just generally be a nuisance to the centre halves.

Didnt expect him to last an hour last night but with the injuries we had he had to paly the full 90

You prove to me professor Lord Sugar the problem was his knees because I've been told by 2 different football agents one who was involved in the negotiating that it was his 4 agents asking for too much for fee's but you keep arguing and I'll provide the facts with the amount of goals he's scored and kept Newcastle in the division FACT
