For Straq to be at his best, he needs to do what Vellios did for his first goal i reckon, receive the ball to feet with his back to goal, lay if off out wide or to an on running midfielder and get him straight into the box and put it on his head.
Remember that shot when he was offside? The header in the first twenty minutes? Him being offside for no reason?
From the beginning he was so off the pace and couldn't keep up. In a team with Neville, Hibbert, Heitinga and a first game back for Donovan.
Saying that tactics didn't help; he's a hold up player in a team that plays hoof all yet it was Saha asked to come deeper??
I'm sure he'll improve as the season continues but I think he is the lesser centre forward when compared to Vellios.

Some of our fans can't bring themselves to say one bad word against anyone who has anything to do with EFC , this type of fan plays a part of everything that's wrong with the club at the minute, We sell Arteta , Yakubu and Beckford and bring this Sunday league player in , yet there's people on here thinking of positives , the fella can't even run , I've got friends who are 100% better than him, we had Yakubu FFS , wake up and realise where getting ****ed by our chairman and our manager is telling fibs for him, I'd like to know how many fans think James Mc Fadden, Big StraquAngel and Maygue Guyey are better options than Ross Barkley , because if this is correct I've been going the game for about 22 years and still don't know what the **** i'am watching ,

I dont blame the player, by the way. He's getting a good pay day and he's off back home. Who wouldn't do that as long as they thought they weren't (in their own evaluation) cheating anyone to get it? No, when you see him in an Everton shirt that is a clear abandonment of duty on the part of the club bringing him here. They're to blame. How Moyes has fallen for a player that even Leicester elbowed away is a scandal. It was pure Keystone Cops stuff in the wake of letting Yakubu and Vaughan go...get someone in...anyone. That lad McAleny could have stepped in at a push and we wouldn't have noticed the difference...and maybe got a better player to turn to into the bargain.

Straq is a big lump who can hold the ball up. It works well in our system because weve only Cahill that we try it with, and that doesn't work.

When he arrived i said he would need 6 months to adjust - South Americans with no experience of North European football always do.
He is slow off the mark - no acceleration which hinders him a lot and either has no composure or no confidence in front of goal.
But he wins a lot of aerial balls and his lay offs are pretty good.
He is looking a decent enough player but unless we can get him for free he will go and be quickly forgotten.

I dont buy the ' settling in period ' bollocks, its a game of footy, get a bunch of lads from anywhere in the world with a ball we can have a kick about and play footy, maybe he is socially still settling in ' language, living arrangments, mates, family, brothels etc, but not playing footy.
Foxy has said he is gash, and thats all we really need to know, he has been at the club for a while now and not had as many opportunities as he probably wants, but thats down to Moyes and what he sees ( or doesn't !) in training.
