2025/26 David Moyes

…..we know how much @davek and @Zatara keep banging the Iraola drum. The way things are going, he might be available soon. To be fair he did win a trophy managing in Cyprus before being sacked for not winning a single game for 2 months.

His win rate is some way behind Moyes but apparently he’s the real deal;

Heks had a nightmare run.

I'd still take him over the dour dinosaur though. In a heartbeat.

Ownership in crisis, no board, points deductions, sell to profit transfer windows, eye watering debt, cash position absolutely perilous, managers and players in final years of contract. - GOT ‘I want to be entertained when I go the match, I expect progression’

Stable ownership, debt refinanced, no PSR concerns or points deductions, all players and managers under contract properly, fifth highest net spend poured into a squad that got 48 points last two seasons. - GOT ‘it’s all about stability for now’
It's nonsensical. "Stability" in the context it is used in this debate is almost meaningless. It seems that simply surviving relegation is now a reasonable aspiration, whereas under Dyche it was not. I swear to god that some people on here have Everton-induced PTSD. Moyes has to outperform Dyche. It's that simple. Otherwise we might as well have kept him in post. Ideally we wouldn't appoint self-reverential dour ginger blowhards but that seems to be our MO.

We should be beating a patched up Burnley.

It's hard to say about the squads, Ancelotti and Martinez didn't have any 2 players better than Ndiaye and Grealish tbf. Nor did they have a keeper as good as Pickford currently is.
Martinez had stones, Jagielka, Baines, Coleman and Lukaku.

What we’d give for the modern day version of that. Nonsense argument.

I hate these type of defensive posts for backing Moyes. It's up to the club to get the best manager possible for Everton, not bleeding Zat or Davek. If you're going for any current PL manager then it would be Glasner. Either way if we can't do better than Moyes at the end of this season we may as well pack up.

Bournemouth literally sold their entire defence in the summer and are selling their other quality player, Semenyo, next week to City. It's interesting that these type of factors are used by you to excuse poor performances under Moyes but are conveniently omitted or discarded for other managers.

Sorry, what? We’re nowhere near the relegation zone, under Dyche we were 1 point outside of it at this stage of the season?! In what universe are these the same parameters being set, where on earth has that come from?

Anyone who thinks we’re buying our way out of this without a manager that has a strong system and vision for how we play and also places great importance on player development is massively misguided.
I never said moyes was the right man to give those 3-4 windows to did i?

Just that who ever is the manager would need that long with consistent investment

The club was stable the second last season finished.

Moyes is a better manager than Dyche, has better players, and has been given a whole load more money to spend. Yet points totals and league finishes that were unacceptable under Dyche are now seen as ‘stability’?!

Dropping points to Southampton, Ipswich or Luton were apparently sackable offences in previous seasons but when we chuck them away now to Leeds or Burnley, or go out the cup to Wolves. they’re all of a sudden decent sides.
