2025/26 David Moyes

Could tell it was going to be a tough game as soon as the team sheet was out

No Grealish, KDH or Ndiaye is basically taking away all of our creativity

Without those players, it's more or less a Dyche team and they play like it

Positives - Dibling got more or less a full game, we kept a clean sheet (I know) and Garner avoided a yellow

Ah I see, so when I used to say Dyche had his best players missing you would respond with NO EXCUSES SEAN

But it seems that actually having your best players missing does affect the performance of a team

You also used to go on about dropping points to newly promoted teams like it was a sackable offence.

Yet another hypocrite

At no point in his Everton tenure was Dyche left without his 5 best players. So your argument is yet another straw man, to the surprise of nobody at all.

What did Rohl do to deserve all of this glaze?! I like some of the things I have seen from him prior to Burnley but he has done nothing to take the spot from anyone. I think Moyes has kind of played himself into a spot of bother. You have to maintain a squad and all of this dropping and freezing certain players out leads to an end product like this. None of the attackers coming in have any confidence and we are lost for answers. It is a tricky game managing egos and I do not believe Moyes is the guy going forward.

One of the oldest teams in the division. Almost zero progress in the performance of the team generally. No development of players. And we’re not going to make Europe or do anything of note this season.

Really awesome that we got new owners in and wasted another season.

What in the world did Rohl show that would have made a difference?

This was a 90 minute advert on why these guys don’t play. If anything, it’s justification for Moyes of the decisions he’s made when all are healthy.
Did he not buy Rohl in the first place? He was far from the worst player today. McNeil and Alcaraz were levels below. And Patterson’s cameo at the end will at the very least ensure he is gone over the next two windows.

What team would you have started today?

Barry was unlucky with the chance, was a top save by Duvbravka so I think there was case to continue starting him.

Beyond that yeah...I'm not sure what else. People keep calling for Aznou but I just don't think he's ready yet. Dibling got a start and did o.k in spells but he's clearly not at the level of an Ndiaye or Grealish who can win these type of games with one move.

Defence can keep a clean sheet in these games with ease and bar a dodgy ten minute spell in the second half that was pretty much the case.

Not sure what fans are expecting 1 year into having new owners and having our 5 best players out for different reasons. This will be a gradual rebuild and improvement, we’re not suddenly going to turn into CL contenders.
