2025/26 David Moyes

As a result of the team going into free fall at the end of the season, he`s backed himself into a real corner, with some of the fan base.

No matter what side of the fence you sit on, he needs to hit the ground running at the beginning of the season, as there`s a very real potential for things to to turn nasty very quickly for him.
We’ll be in the conversation for relegation all season. We won’t go down it’ll be the newly promoted then Sunderland then us.

Things that have happened lately that i have hated Moyes more and more

1, Liverpool beating us home and away again (a very poor team at that)

2 Sunderland getting Europe, Moyes believes we are happy considering were we have come from

3 Bournemouth getting Europe same as above

4 Aston Villa wining a European trophy something we can only dream of

5 Leeds getting to semi final of the FA cup a day out at Wembley

6 Palace wining a European trophy

7 Moyes laughing and belittling Everton on the Rooney show, bending over for Ferguson

8 Liverpool sack their manager because he has not won a trophy in 12 months and go and get the fella us fans wanted to take us forward

9 After Spurs defeat he got asked a question about does he understand why the Everton fans are disappointed because we missed out on Europe, he said NO I dont understand why they would be disappointed 🤔

10 This clown will still be here next season and I can hear him moaning before a ball is kicked about not getting new signings in early

Even the Queen Bee is throwing daggers...interesting times.
He didn’t really need to do that much to keep me on side, I know the word is mocked but I truly do value stability over chaos.

Even just one of the below and I’d have been elsewhere today, two or three and I’d have been happy.

Decent cup run
Top half of table finish
Good quality football
Sensible management and development of young players
Impactful substitutions and tactical awareness
Winning mentality and acceptance of responsibility

Instead we had a very poor finish to the season where he looked and sounded all out of ideas other than a Barry/Beto swap. He is now off to the World Cup with his Everton slippers on seemingly not thinking there are many issues to be fixed by him, it is on the board to reward him with new players.

Almost every one of these clubs have better squads and can offer European football. Milan is genuinely massive and Leverkusen were recently German champions.

People just want to skip the hard part of doing the work to improve and want to take shortcuts.
It's 2026. Nobody gives a toss about Serie A.

We can pay more for a manager (already pay really well as it is) and probably also can spend more on players than any of those clubs.

The European football stuff is daft too. If a potential manager cant get his head around that he may be able to get European football with us after next season then we probably shouldn't be looking at them as they are not capable of even basic thought.

I don't think any other team in the Premier League would want David Moyes as their manager going into next season.
Certainly no other team would be happy with their current manager yucking it up with another ex rat of a player on a BBC podcast about how much they screwed us over.

The only reason I could stomach either of them coming back was that it gave us a chance to bin them off properly on our terms.

Wow the scary thing is there's another list just as big as this you could use . He needs to go.

If we had been in the lower half of the table all season and finished 13th, Moyes would have been deemed by most as having done a good job given the horrors of the preceding seasons. However, pissing away a solid chance of Europe with his lineup rigidity and lack of substitutional awareness exposed him for the limited manager he really is.

There’s ambition and then there’s being rash. Modern football fans would have forced out Bill Shankly after just first team ran out of steam.
Gets right on my wick this. I'm sure you must have a hotline to Kenwright's spirit.

He always spoke like he was one of the great decsion makers in sticking with Moyes, and he and his acolytes always compared it to people wanting Kendall or Alex Ferguson out. But look at what they went on to win.

You have to be a pretty dire manager to be given the time that Moyes was and not win a single trophy.

Maybe football clubs can be more reactionary in the modern day, but the situations are not remotely comparable. And it's not like this is new. This is what defenders of Moyes are failing to see. We know all his flaws and weaknesses as a manager intimately and he has not improved. Even I hoped that maybe he had, but the evidence is firmly to the contrary. Mate of mine who is a Utd fan commented to me, that all my texts moaning about him when we discuss footy, are almost exactly the same as they were in 2007!

Add to this that, if anything, Moyes is in fact a worse manager now than he was then because the game has moved on, and his inactivity and timidity on substitutions and squad management is found out way more easily now. It used to be that only the top 4 had benches that could change a game. Now, you can make so many subs, that almost every club can completely change the complexion of a game. Apart from dino Davey of course, whose subs were pathetic in 2007, never mind now.

11. His team and attitude after the league cup defeat to wolves
12. Insisting on pairing Tark and Keane
13. Dropping Rohl and Patterson after a very good away win
14. Not rotating his squad enough so they looked knackered for the run in
15. Not giving Dibling or Aznou a chance
16. Refusing to play KDH deeper, possibly moving garner to RB. General stubbornniss.
17. Poor in game management (scratching his arse while Sunderland made a triple change, one example)
18. Calling Armstrong back from loan, then playing him out of position and dropping him.
19. Using the term "back on the grass".
20. those awful penos v Sunderland, like they didnt practice.

We weren’t in that conversation for a single week this season. We had a bad end to the season, but since Moyes has come back, relegation has not been a concern whatsoever so I don’t know how anyone can definitively say we will be next season.
