2025/26 David Moyes

I know the club are probably hoping that the fans annoyance at our end of season flop will disperse with the World Cup but seeing Moyes’s mug regularly on tv might well have the opposite effect, especially if there are poor signs on the recruitment front.
New four year contract on the table and will be announced in the middle of the World Cup when "cool heads" have prevailed.

That'll be the plan, anyway...

It is absolutely insane isn't it. The Everton mentality now is that success is based upon not being in a relegation battle. That is where are at even under new ownership and it is pretty clear that the CEO believes in that mindset too given his bewildering season ending money costing comments 2 games before it had finished when Europe, bigger prize fund, better summer signings and excitement was definitely still fully achievable as proven by the team below us.

I honestly think it is the plan. I think all along they have been planning to announce an extension and are expecting us to party in the streets, because of the weird esteem he is held in by our fanbase.

He's TFG's ideal candidate because he represents very little. No pressure to succeed, no need to put major investment in, but the fans still love 'the Moyesiah' and 'he is one of us.' And all the nonsense that comes with all that.

It will 100% be what they have been gambling on. Hence Kinnear's crap about Moyes' 'ridiculously high standards etc.'

But, the fact that Moyes has even managed to lose the majority of the weird groupies who actually love his inadequacies, shows how starved we are of success as a fan base. And that much of the old messaging just won't wash.

I always felt that Moyes was his own glass ceiling first time round. What he has done since, at other clubs and ours, has only confirmed that in my eyes.

As such, they will try and bury any extension announcement. Maybe even wait till we win a couple of games in October or something.

I hate the rs, but I 100% admire them as a professional outfit. Whenever they lose a start player, they always have a replacement lined up. Whenever they sell a no mark, they always get top dollar. They always believe that they will win something and so they always set out with winning in mind. Aside from the fact that they are all web-toed mutants, they are everything I wish our club was.

People won't want to accept it, but we have more in common with Tranmere Rovers than we do Liverpool. We win about as much as Tranmere. And there's always Peter Johnson...

Did you see the Rooney interview when he said how lucky he was to have a chairman like Kenwright? I’m paraphrasing but it went something like
“You’d get some supporters group moaning that we should do better (Moyes and Rooney laugh) but Bill would stick with me and let me get on with it.

Of course, he would. You kept him in place by turning water into, if not wine, vinegar.
