2025/26 David Moyes

It’s not that there aren’t loads of managers, it’s that the ones who would be better than Moyes are quite thin on the ground and there is a lot of competition for these names.
who are looking for the top names.
Palace, Bournemouth, maybe Newcastle In England
AC Milan in Italy, Leverkusen in Germany
Who else.
Everton should be able to compete with them.

Almost every one of these clubs have better squads and can offer European football. Milan is genuinely massive and Leverkusen were recently German champions.

People just want to skip the hard part of doing the work to improve and want to take shortcuts.

He was talking about how Ferguson invited him into a hotel room and basically big-dogged him over Rooney and when Moyes said oh he's not for sale Ferguson ordered him not to sell him to Chelsea, and then a few months later Ferguson did the same thing again and basically made us sell Rooney. Laughing as he's telling a story about how another club had him over a barrel because he thinks we're at the bottom of the food chain compared to 'bigger clubs'
Embarrassing bumming Ferguson. also for what its worth , I don’t believe for a second when Rooney said previously he was sold against his wishes, I remember his determined sulking face driving out of training on sky sports news that he wanted to leave. Him and that c n t Stretford or whatever his name was. No way he would have stayed whatever we would have offered him.

At this seasons “progress” of a point a year we’ll only have a decade or so before we are ready to compete for the good managers.

We were one of the favourites for a European spot. Please stop ignoring Moyes' shocking failures over the last 7 weeks

They really aren’t as plentiful as people seem to think. Moyes is in the highly competent tier.
With all do respect mate. This is epitomizing why we are where we are.

Always look backward and at the here and now instead of the future. Under John Moores we used to look forward. And everything reflected that - the way we bought and developed players. It even trickled into the 80s when we hired a 45 year old manager, gave him a bit of time, and were the best team in the land. But at somepoint in the past 30 odd years, we started looking at the here and now and to the past. We started looking at the need to be stable, we started pointing to our record number of seasons in the top flight instead of the number of times we'd won it. Even under Moshiri we looked backwards to has beens for the most part. Despite these stains on our history, our whole entire existence has been one of innovation. "first to do this, first to do that".

And then we come to the highly competent tier, sitting here and saying Moyes is that. How much longer will he be in that tier? Can't we for once go and get the one that wont just be in that high tier, but the world class tier in a few seasons? Boat missed on Iraola - and hence my fume as from what I've seen this guy screamed elite coach - and to a more improtant note, a good fit for us. Obviously now I am very happy to be proven wrong. But, when them lot rock up to Hill Dickinson in October and Moyes brings his plastic knife to fend off Iraola's 50 caliber machine gun, hopefully then some of our fans will remember us not for what we were, but what we are - just with a little effin bollocks added. And thats a double 'l'.
