They really aren’t as plentiful as people seem to think. Moyes is in the highly competent tier.
With all do respect mate. This is epitomizing why we are where we are.
Always look backward and at the here and now instead of the future. Under John Moores we used to look forward. And everything reflected that - the way we bought and developed players. It even trickled into the 80s when we hired a 45 year old manager, gave him a bit of time, and were the best team in the land. But at somepoint in the past 30 odd years, we started looking at the here and now and to the past. We started looking at the need to be stable, we started pointing to our record number of seasons in the top flight instead of the number of times we'd won it. Even under Moshiri we looked backwards to has beens for the most part. Despite these stains on our history, our whole entire existence has been one of innovation. "first to do this, first to do that".
And then we come to the highly competent tier, sitting here and saying
Moyes is that. How much longer will he be in that tier? Can't we for once go and get the one that wont just be in that high tier, but the world class tier in a few seasons? Boat missed on Iraola - and hence my fume as from what I've seen this guy screamed elite coach - and to a more improtant note, a good fit for us. Obviously now I am very happy to be proven wrong. But, when them lot rock up to
Hill Dickinson in October and
Moyes brings his plastic knife to fend off Iraola's 50 caliber machine gun, hopefully then some of our fans will remember us not for what we were, but what we are - just with a little effin bollocks added. And thats a double 'l'.
