The signs were always there - because Moyes himself is the ultimate symbol of Kenwrightism - but people refused to see them.

What's transpired since is no surprise to anyone vaguely astute - or at least non-delusional. People wanted Moyes to succeed. That was utterly understandable, but their wishful thinking got the better of their judgement. Moyes was destined to stagnate us. People just didn't want to accept that...

So liverpool sack a manager who came 5th…got the QF of league cup and champs league and won the title a year before!

Everton who went out in the 3rd round of both cups…came 13th…the same position they came last season…who gained one more point that the previous two seasons

He’s never held account for it either. The journo who asked that question just piped down after Moyes dismissed the idea that fans might be unhappy. No follow up question to say they might be unhappy because we hadn’t won a game for 2 months, or query why he hadn’t made changes to the back 4. Everything about Everton is just too cosy and happy to be bang average at best. From the CEO to the manager to the journalists who cover the club. All too willing just to shrug their shoulders and try to convince fans we should be grateful for what we’ve got.
