2025/26 David Moyes

Was the game v Spurs rigged?

here is a theory, Moyes wanted West Ham to go down 2 reasons
1 the way he got to leave them their fans couldn't wait for him to go
2 he now has the pick of their players

Going back to the spurs game, why did he start Barry, knowing he will offer nothing going forward?
this gave Spurs the chance to play further up the pitch
2 why did he take to the 83rd minute to bring Beto on, he never leaves subs that late?
3 The opening minute of the game we got a corner, James Garner has been taking good corners all season, a chance to put them right under pressure, no he passes backwards to KDH and it comes to nothing.
4 we had no shots all game until George in the 88th minute, this against a team fighting for their lives.

if it was not rigged and that was a genuine performance, then Moyes needs booting into touch
Moyes playing 4D chess to get Soucek on the cheap?

Looks like a facts and figures post to me. Nothing mysterious about it.

The bounce is over. It's all crawling over gravel from here on out
It’s not as simple as that. Stats only reveal so much. You need to look at the context and the circumstances behind them.

Fact is, we lost a fair chunk of our most important players at the end of the season and it cost us.

What cost us is having to resort to Michael Keane in defence, which was caused because we completely failed to sign any Right Back whatsoever last summer, and instead decided to spend 35 million on a massively overhyped teenager that can't even get a game. And Moyes' response to this was to hand Michael Keane yet another contract extension!

We won 5 games over the entire 2nd half of the season.

And not having full squad available is not much of an excuse when he persisted with the same back 4 and McNeil which he categorically didn’t have to do.

We didn't have to resort to Keane. It was just Moyes kept picking him every week.
