2025/26 David Moyes

Except it wasn't 8 or 9 players. It was 5 out field players. Including 2 who played several times the previous season and Seamus for a cameo...... playing against the worst team in the league, who also rotated a lot. The point was about players not getting a go, and/or some not getting a chance even on merit. I've got a crap memory, but went to nearly every game home and away and can't remember any performances of significant merit that went unrewarded. Thought Alcarez possibly deserved more time (when fit) and some others have stood-in and been ok on occasion, but little more than that really. Of course, some of the players in question are still only young, so that could change..... but I don't think I saw much to suggest that there were lots of obvious alternatives languishing on the bench..... the first team generally picked itself with the 2 misfit forwards rotating every game to at least try to exercise the opposition's backline.
So McNeil deserved his 22 league appearances??! And probably 12/13 starts for his 1 assist. Gana who was bang average first half of the season and the data backs it up, he dropped off this season by 50% compared to last season, Aznou didn’t deserve 1 minute of premier league football. Even though we have the worst left back in the league for going forward. Look at Tim’s data, great at winning the ball and getting about the pitch, keeping the ball, passing, creating chances, goals and assists he’s one of the worst in tbe league for centre midfielders, but Rhol and Armstrong not had a sniff even though they looked great at Villa. Maybe because Tim is older than Armstrong and has more prem experience than Rhol

Again the stats don’t lie, Tarkowski and Keane is a car crash pairing at CB, but the manager persists with it. You’re in tbe minority mate, bury your head in the sand, but most of us can see it. When Moyes started Dibling for the first time, that was the first teenager he’d started in a game for 5 yrs

I don't really read the Echo but this cat just posted this about TFG.

Is he a real person or AI?

We can only guess about the availabity, and who's responsible for the whole selection process and budget etc. I can't remember the chronology of when he arrived or whether or not he was a more speculative buy, or even last minute desperation. On transfers, we can also judge him on his previous tenure, when he built at least 2 solid sides...... on a negative net spend over a 10yr period. When we averaged about 7th in the league.
Mate you are talking about 15-20 years ago.

Why does every person who wants Moyes talks about sides or finishing positions 20 years ago??

The game has moved on. It was the big 4 back then. Now its the 'big 6'. There's a lot more teams now involved in the European conversation any given year.

Everything about football has moved on, can we please stop harping on about what Moyes done in 2008. This is why as a club we are were we are, because we still operate like its the 00's and not the 2020's.

How bad will it have to be next season before TFG consider replacing him?
When the crowd in the stadium become more vocal, and the local/national media start reporting it.

I gave up my season ticket 14 years ago primarily because of this dinosaur and the turgid football he served up then.
For me he totally sucked the lifeblood out of this club along with my enthusiasm for going to the game.
I can tolerate us getting beat, but I won’t put up with watching shoit week in week out and not even attempting to win the game.

I was most definitely in the camp that didn’t want him back here whatsoever.

I’m not a fan of the noisy neighbours across the park, but they are not averse to staging a public protest to make their feelings known to the hierarchy, and lo and behold their board have usually taken notice and reacted.

If that’s what our fan base had to do to make our feelings known to the board, to get rid of this fella during the close season, then count me in.
