The vast majority of people on here and on X seem to be on the same page about moving on, it's the part-timers who think we're just a right back and a striker away from being a decent side.
It was his choice to finish the last 6 games with burnleys 2016 centrehalf partnership 10 years later.
We finished about where we "should" have in terms of squad value and quality. It's more the completely being unable to take advantage of any opportunity to do something that has soured the whole thing, especially when the manager has persisted with players and tactics irrespective of form or results.Finishing bottom half with that squad is just completely & utterly unacceptable though really, isnt it? let alone 13th.....
Yeah we've been like a broken record on this recruitment issueWeve been saying the same thing on recruitment since Moyes returned, havent we?
I also dont see it as a major issue for any coach and cant see what a bit of extra imput from e.g Iraola makes much different to a Glasner or Moyes.
Surely they can adapt rather than ripping up.
One thing is for sure, they must get at least one RB before the world cup.
Would be helpful for Moyes to come out and say Aznou, Dibling etc are earmarked for breakthrough seasons or something.
I agree C. Imagine if Glasner had this squad and brought in say 3 players - 2 wing backs and a CF . A team likeThe squad had holes due to Moyes not prioritizing certain areas like fullbacks but it's outlandish to say the squad is poor its a midtable team. Even the last two seasons when finished around the same spots we even had a weaker squad than this season
We are literally a laughing stock....
"After spending the best part of 30 years letting their own fans down, Everton chose Sunday afternoon to disappoint fans of almost every other Premier League team. David Moyes had one big chance to end a season that promised so much but ultimately fizzled out into nothingness on a high! Instead, while Leeds were holding up their end of the quid pro quo by letting West Ham steamroller them in east London, the scouse spoilsports couldn’t even manage a shot on target at Tottenham until the ninth minute of added time. " The Guardian.
Bournemouth, Sunderland, Brighton, Brentford, all finishing where they "should be". Same with Tottenham. We finished about where we "should" have in terms of squad value and quality. It's more the completely being unable to take advantage of any opportunity to do something that has soured the whole thing, especially when the manager has persisted with players and tactics irrespective of form or results.
I don't think this is same Moyes either, he's actually worse. Anichebe was actually played, Vaughan was, Coleman was, Rodwell was, Gosling was, which makes his attitude towards Dibling and Aznou even more bizarre. He did actually bring in Baines, Yakubu, Pienaar, and got rid of Simon Davies, AJ, and certain other players who were deemed not good enough. Yobo was better than Keane and Tarky combined he was sold. As I said in recent years, our players are most inconsistent in league. Look great in 1 game, then look championship quality the next.He operated differently when he had to be frugal, actually made some savvy purchases but that was another time of football, managers don't control every aspect of recruitment anymore, and he struggles to collaborate with others and with more money available resorts to lazy buys of older players
Unfortunately it falls on deaf ears to the people who matter.‘Do you understand the fans frustrations’? After 7 games without a win has cost us Europe..
‘No, I don’t’.
Think the balance was well and truly tipped against him after that.
