2025/26 David Moyes

I dont think there's much debating to be done, on here at least.

The people that still support him are fully entrenched in that view and I have to question how bad things would have to get for them to have a change of heart.
It's hard for me tbh. Moyes has steadied the ship and it's such a huge relief. I will always give him credit for that. I worry that if we bring someone in who completely changes everything as opposed to building on it. Some on here wanted potter, he played a massive hand in getting West ham relegated. Thomas Frank was terrible at spurs, Chelsea have had a nightmare with their managers the list is endless. In some ways there's some relief in having mid table mediocrity. It's obviously not want I want forever. But thank god we didn't have to worry about relegation this season. I dunno what the answer is. Just glad we didn't have the day west ham and spurs had today.

For over an hour today typifies everything wrong with this season.
Same players , same tactics ( agst a team not won at home nor kept a clean sheet since December ) it was woeful.

The introduction of Tyrique George , Harrison Armstrong and Charly Alcaraz ( after they picked the splinters out their arse's) we actually looked like we could give them a game.....WHO KNEW ?

If Moyes stays we will have exactly the same next season.
He will never , ever change.

I'd love to know what TFG's thoughts are on Moyes. The job he did last season was terrific. There is absolutely no way you could classify this season the same. The fall off the cliff does not say good things about the ability of Moyes to get every ounce out of his players.

His lack of use of some players screams of a myopic view on the game.
For me this boils down to what are they here for? If its success then they will do the right thing, if its to cream the PL cash cow then Moyes will remain.

After 1 year into a new stadium and new owner, one wrong decision could set us back right into the Moshiri era.

The next week or 2 we will know exactly what our new owners are all about.

If you count 1 more point than last season progress then sure.

I personally don't.

All this nonsense about stability, we've had the same points the two seasons before this one and we finished this season with one more.

It's been 48,48,49.

It's stagnation and kinnears comments are embarrassing and I don't quite understand why he was given the job in the first place. Leeds seem to be doing better without him.
Yup. Now, seeing where Leeds are without Kinnear, imagine where Everton could be without Moyes.

We're being held back by mediocrities.

With pessimism like that why bother supporting us? Isn't the whole point of supporting a big club with a fantastic new stadium is to have some hope of more than prehistoric football and some entertainment and ambition?

We'll know before the World Cup when Talksport introduce him as "former Everton manager, David Moyes."

A boy can dream.

With all due respect, it’s been a while since we had to worry about relegation. I don’t understand why people keep making out like we’ve had last day escapes the last few years. We’ve finished on 48 or 49 points for the last 3 season and this year 39 points went down, which is the highest number of points for about 13 years.

The people that support him at this point are deep deep in delusion.

Moyes would relegate us and they’d still support him under the guise of ‘not all progress is linear guys, you’re all just dramatic bad fans!!’
Hard for me to say as I don't live in the city, but from what I can tell going off what I do see it seems like those staying loyal are in the minority, and for the majority of fans the rubicon has been crossed.

They surely have to be assessing fan sentiment atm, if we get off to a bad start next season its going to get very toxic very quickly. Already is really.
