2025/26 David Moyes

It’s a separate subject, but Man Utd had long been on the slide. Losing Ferguson and their CEO in the summer was massive negligence by that club.
They'd just won the league by 11 points.

There are stories all over the place from the United players at the time saying about him going in and changing the entire mentality and tactical system to worrying about the opposition and setting up not to lose rather than trying to win.

He lost both manchester derbies, liverpool beat them twice. Even we did the double over them for the first and only time since the 69/70 season.

They finished 25 points worse off in 7th.

Edit - Swansea knocked then out of the FA Cup at Old Trafford in the 3rd Round and they blew a League Cup Semi Final against Sunderland with a 2nd leg at Old Trafford.

That’s the thing. It might just be a bit early to move to another manager. People think we have stabilised, but I actually think we are weaker than people think. This summer is pivotal.

Look at where Wigan, Blackburn, etc are now.

This side has lots of good players.

Dewsbury Hall
Branthwaite
Pickford
Garner
O'Brien as a CB
Gana (although hes off)
Röhl, Iroegbunam have huge upside
Even Beto

Wigan had players like Franco Di Santo etc... we've got players who are more than capable of performing in Europe. But they look unfit, they look lost.

I think we can get a result against Spurs this weekend - they are powderpuff and badly organised.

Mark my words, we are not getting anything. Infact, were currently over at Carpet World picking out the carpet were rolling out for them.

I remember Rio Ferdinand saying something about the players were laughing at him because of some team talk or tactics

It was a miracle borne of RVP going through a season uninjured, a never to be repeated phenomenon. Ferdinand and Vidic were the rock that team was built on and they were past it. Scholes retired again, Giggs was hardly available. It was a period of massive transition. Moyes could have done better, but it’s obvious in retrospect that Man Utd were basically in need of a full rebuild.

Beto is crap.

I see from Bobble's latest update, Loser FC are in full flow. See Moyes as more than just a short term fix, see him as the man for a long term rebuild etc

Pathetic. Moyes is a serial loser. If it wasn't for the fact that he won a trophy thay any PL team that is in it should win - it's like the equivalent of sticking a PL team in the Vertu Trophy - he would have NOTHING to show for basically a 25 year top flight managerial career. A career in which he has been privileged enough to be given 13 years combined at two of the biggest clubs in the country and then jobs at two sizeable clubs in Sunderland and West Ham. I don’t care how you dress it up, that is APPALLING.

Look at all the crap managers who have won domestic trophies in that time. Any manager given the opportunities he has been given should have at the very least 2 or 3 more trophies to show for it.

His record away against the bigger clubs is telling. His record in cups is telling. His signings since he left us first time are telling. The fact that he has NEVER been able to use subs and manage games properly in his entire career is telling. Like for like changes all the time too . . .

One of the few things his teams generally used to do was come good at the end of the year. And look what's happened this year. Why is that? Because the game has changed and he is on the decline. Every club is able to (and generally do) make so many subs per game that it changes game dynamics and helps to freshen squads. People wonder why KDH and Ndiaye have been crap lately - they are clearly goosed. Lack of rotation costs more these days.

Then there is his stubbornness - not giving players a go. He was clearly angry at being shown up when Aznou came on against Sunderland, so has made a point of not using him again. When rightly questioned on it he said "we didn't sign him to play that position." (talking about using him at LW). This from a man who thinks JOB is a RB and famously played Seamus at RW for two years to get him used to PL football. Röhl comes in against Villa and is great. Moyes is questioned about it and drops him. Don't see him for weeks, finally comes in and looks like he could really add something to the team (being played out of position again btw). Armstrong comes in plays well, gets shunted out of position (another one), then gets dropped. People asks what happened, he criticises the lad publicly, and we don't see him again. Makes a point of bringing on or starting g McNeil - a player he wanted out of the club over both George and Dibling in recent weeks. This shows consistent poor judgement. Do we have a review process in the club? In my job, if I demonstrated this level od consistently poor judgement, there would be consequences.

Destroys young players in public but never calls out the likes of Keane and Tarkowski publicly who are 'senior pros' and should be standard setters but have been abysmal. And of course, keep getting picked.

Has said several times about needing height, PL experience and older players for us to progress - and this is who TFG trust with their millions??

If TFG and Kinnear cannot see how fundamentally stupid it is to entrust Moyes with us going forward from this point then, sadly, they too are not fit for purpose. Utterly abject from all concerned.

Angus, I am deeply unhappily dissatisfied, you clown . . .

New to this thread or what?

All the exact same problems that are visible now were visible then, and were written here daily by many people, only for, essentially, Moyesettes to just post "HAHA LOL @ U EUROPE LAD" for the most part.

Now that the 1st party was correct, the second is missing, interestingly, or at least not as vocal.
I will never forget how those of us who'd wanted him out were getting vaulted from the "HAHA LOL @ U EUROPE LAD" crowd because we got a few wins and were temporarily in sixth. Because league position in January is such a fantastic measure of success. Weird how quiet some of them are these days.

Everyone from that squad: Moyes was gash, tried to change the mentality to being cowards full time

Diehard Moyes FC fans: nah it was everyone else who was wrong, the club itself included, and Moyes was right!!!
