2025/26 David Moyes

Think you're overegging it a bit.

That season we bid £20m+ for their crap centre half, name escapes me, who was getting pictures with Evertonians desperate for a move. Moyes wouldn't sell him to Everton.

Big money at the time and more than what they paid for their club record transfer that same summer.

They should have sold him if they were that skint. I think they ended up loaning him out.

I think Moyes was a bit cut nose to spite face with it. I honestly think he will be glad to see West Ham go down this weekend because it adds to his own PR.

"Look at West Ham"

It was Lamine Kone I was thinking of

Do you REALLY see progress and enough to merit him staying on, when you've got Glasner & Iraola right there to be hired?

Do we have to be reactive? Can't we be pro-active for the first time in my lifetime?
I do see progress and I think there are early shoots of a better team coming through. I also don’t think either would do much better, but I do think Glasner in particular is a talented manager who I think could do a good job here.

At the end of the day, we don’t know how either of these guys will do if they manage Everton next season. I think Moyes will make more progress and improve us, but I also think Glasner would also have an impact. Iraola is the most speculative as he plays a very different style. I think he would struggle as we don’t have the same structure as Bournemouth and I don’t think we have the players to do it, but who knows if we sign the right players.

You do have good points. My only argument is the “football has moved on” bit. If we want to be a bit more expansive and play like Bournemouth it makes sense to try for Iraola. But I don’t think the more compact and counter-heavy approach of Moyes is outdated really. If anything, you’ve seen a swing to that direction as people try to counter the more possession heavy style.
You need pace to play on the counter. We have very little

Yeah - keeping him turned out to be a massive blunder. Kaboul was essentially talking him through hames the way Mjallby did with Balde at Celtic. Once Kone and Balde lost their on-field coaches they were a fraction of the players they appeared to be.

That’s the curates egg thing. You can make good arguments either way, I’d say. At the end of the day, if he cannot make tangible progress next season he’ll be heading elsewhere.
Mate people are groaning at the team sheet before a ball is kicked, knowing what we are going to get. (it shouldn't be like that)

Like most fans I can tolerate him for 1 more game then be done with his dullness and mediocrity.

All the crap he's getting here and elsewhere he has brought it on himself, he could of done things different and chose not too.
I think even if he had tried to use his squad and new singings more but we were still in the same position we are now, then probably more would say ok lets see what happens next season, (I personally wouldn't but some would)

He doesn't deserve to be at this club any longer than this weekend.

Think about that game at the weekend. A chance at Europe and we were terrible first half, low energy, couldn't get the crowd going, lucky to be going in a goal up.

He said he told them at HT 'keep doing what you are doing' and they did.

Yeah, but we don’t know what plan Moyes and the recruiters have came up with for next season. That’s actually more important to considering whether he will be worth keeping on.

Yeah, it was a real kick in the nuts. That said, we were leading and effectively gave them the match. We have lacked defensive robustness and have been wasteful in front of goal for weeks now. But we have also been missing our best players, and it basically highlights how dependent we are on a few individuals.

But doesn't his time with Utd having the best players in the league ring alarm bells? What was the excuse then? Better players than everyone else? It doesn't matter what players he has, its how he plays the game, Mr percentage football.

I can't see it.

I cant see why you wouldn't let Iraola put his stamp on the entire squad.

Did wonders at Rayo, had done tremendous at Bournemouth, he fits the model of younger player development which Moyes doesn't do?

Glasner is a proven trophy winner at this stage. If Palace win next week, Glasner will have won double what Moyes has won in his career in 12 months at Crystal Palace.

We all know in 12 months time well be sat here doing the same moaning but we'll be a year older, so why wait?

It’s a separate subject, but Man Utd had long been on the slide. Losing Ferguson and their CEO in the summer was massive negligence by that club.
