2025/26 David Moyes

Exactly but do think Moyes is the man to take us to the next level? No.

But he’s done a brilliant job in the short period of time here.

People forget that the squad he inherited were in relegation battles and it’s gonna take a lot longer than 16months to change that. Pickford, Patterson, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Mykolenko, Garner, Beto, McNeil and Gana were all constantly fighting relegation battles. 8 out of the 9 players I’ve just mentioned, all started today.

You saying we get rid of Brantwaite?

Whether he stays or goes will depend in my opinion on what the budget is for recruits this summer. I’d imagine there’s no way the top brass would still want indystrial style football if they’re willing to splurge - they’ll want exciting footballers to be managed by an exciting manager. A sub 100m budget in my opinion keeps him at the club regardless of results.

If we end up finishing between 11th - 13th we should consider getting rid. We're not winning the big games, which was the same problem the first time.
He's done well but you're right about 'not winning the big games', and we always fall at the last hurdle, just when you start to believe.

I've said that I think he deserves a contract extension, but if we end up 11th-13th, it'd be disappointed.

Today he had to at least try and give us an outlet though. He just didn't look interested.
Yeah wouldn't argue with that tbh. Just more mean that him putting in that performance with how we were set up is exactly what I would expect, as frustrating as that is.

We were dealt a rough hand in that game with the forced subs, but you want a manager to at least try to come up with a tactical solution in those moments. There's never a plan B with Moyes. He's great at building a culture and team spirit, but he's so rigid tactically it drives me mad.
