Doesn’t sound good but I never trust a manager interview. I always think that what they tell the press and what they say to the players are just completely different.

Sadly I think our derby record is going to be crap until we get better players. As I said before, it's not like we're up against a mid table team here that we should be beating.

I agree we need better than Moyes and deserve better. But here’s the reality that has to be met. There are plenty of managers that are better than Moyes. But that manager has to be available, we have to meet his salary demands, and he has to want to come here. Who meets that criteria right now? Basically no one.

We were desperate to sign Liam Delap from Ipswich Town, a club being relegated. He turned us down. Why? Perceived opportunities of success and glory at Chelsea.

Now that’s just some random player in a club. We’re looking for our singular leader. Do we put out the vibe that’s like a magnet to coaches scrambling to lead us because we’re synonymous with winning, Europe, and trophies? No. Not for some time.

So kick Moyes out and who do you put in? It’s so short-sighted. It’s completely fair to complain and debate his decisions. I think it’s a horrible idea to sack him given the managers out there, especially with our lack of depth, thinking that new man will get more juice out of the fruit.

It's worth noting that we had one of them, almost tanked the whole club for it and things panned out almost exactly the same.

Why would your conclusive opinion on a manager you've known for decades hang on so little?

True but it's a game of fine margins and those positions would essentially mean little to no improvement. That alongside the awful cup results is enough for me to look for a new manager.

If we fail to get top half thats more evidence he doesn't do well in high pressure situations, similar to his first spell.

Safest choice, trusts the player, etc. It wasn't Armstrong only because he wasn't there.

I think it depends upon their ambitions for the club. If they are happy for us to bob around in mid table then Moyes is perfect for them

I would think any owner of a company wants money, success, and glory in all things. I can’t imagine they don’t want to win the league every year.

Moyes was the right choice and the record shows it. No owner wants mid-table stability. Mediocrity is better than relegation fodder. Doing better brought Grealish. Finishing 10th or higher makes us attractive in the summer.

Keep up that cycle and eventually we’ll be the club that top managers want to lead. We’re not there yet. So as an owner I’d keep Moyes and support him.

They’re looking at it from 30,000 feet and long-term. We’re pissed because of today’s loss and substitutions.

The ship is turning and honestly quicker than most people care to acknowledge or give credit for. I’d rather have consistent management and improvement than inject tons of money and get flashy managers only to flame out hard like Forest and Spurs.

To think we'll be going into more derbies against much better Liverpool teams with this coward in charge is utterly depressing.

He better get us one of those European places. Though even that wont be enough to wipe out the humiliation of that today and the very real probability of more hurt in future derbies.

I hope these owners are taking a good look at this and not falling for some tripe that safety is the goal.

Your almost pathological hatred of Moyes seems to blind you to the fact that outside of the 11 starters and a couple of others. This squad id nowhere near European standards
We need at least 3 or 4 top quality players to compete, not promising young kids and they cost big bucks.
Criticise Moyes all you like, but nothing changes that.
