2025/26 David Moyes

If so, that's even worse. I doubt he had much of a day in Aznou, Dibling, Rohl, George, Barry and Alcaraz. If they're on him maybe he should have less say. How much doh has he wasted there allowing most of them to stagnate on the bench.

….i’d be sure he’s involved, I doubt we sign anybody without his authorisation.

Some disappointing signings last summer but some decent ones. They can’t all play, I wouldn’t give up on all of those you mention. Barry and Dibling were costly and have largely disappointed to this point.

The problem with the current transfer set up there's no accountability. They all say Moyes has the final day and can beto. But considering the treatment of some of the players I would assume the committee offer him players who they want and can get and he's probably begrudgingly ok'd a few of the players I mentioned.

The club obviously had a remit to sign young players with high ceilings and it looks obvious to me that Moyes wasn't/isn't onboard with it.

….i think it’s much more simple than that, some transfers don’t work out, players will disappoint.

We know Moyes rightly sets standards and if players fail to do what the team needs he won’t select them, even if he’s signed them. Moyes should be held accountable for signings.

Okay, so not been on properly for a few days and I can see there are loads of posts on this thread.

Can't be bothered reading back through them all; what's the general consensus on the stories of a new contract for Moyes? Happy? Annoyed? Mixed bag?

The club has to make signing in accordance with the rules, we need players that ultimately we can get a few good seasons out of then we can recycle them. Moyes (as we know) likes his older more experienced players (I get why) The best bet is a compromise/blend of both as we can't afford to fall foul of the rules again. I think TFG will be trying to avoid a West Ham type scenario tbh.

I’ll sum it up in a GIF.

The feeling seeing us win a Cup is completely wonderful & I'd love the younger loyal blues to see it.

Would love to see that followed by a CL qualification at Everton.

We went 40 years without in Bilbao and lost 6 finals during that time. However, we pay a bit of tribute this season with a rather thin squad and suspensions and long term injuries in the worst moment.

LOL never mind, we’re dealing with a cultist.

Given Moyes is only using 60% of his squad how can you argue he’s making the best use of it?

Agreed he’s winning the points but perhaps if he used more of the squad during the matches he might have won more. 😃

Also thought Dyche did a great job in his first 18 months in the circumstances. I wouldn’t deny Moyes is a better manager but I remember his attitude at Sunderland when in a similar position & am far from convinced he would have kept us up when in free fall under Lampard & with the points deductions in the following year.

That’s my opinion. You are entitled to yours. 😃
