From my perspective it's because he came in as a bit of a fire fighting job and wasn't necessarily in the immediate thinking the Friedkin group.
He also has a tendency towards oven ready Premier league players and hasn't really integrated any of the 'project' signings from the summer. There's an argument that this approach has contributed towards West Hams decline since he left.
All that being said, he's done a great job here so far. I've said it before but the Friedkins through Angus Kinnear need to be clear about their strategy (really i'm talking about recruitment and sales) and Moyes needs to work within that. I'd be happy to give him a longer term contract on the basis that he had a longer term approach to squad building.
A couple of things; "wasn't necessarily in the immediate thinking the Friedkin group." (sic)
Are you sure he wasn't? I mean, the fact they gave him the job would suggest this is not even an educated guess.
Everybody likes oven ready prem players, if you can get them. Except for Brighton, Bournemouth and Brentford, and two of those have countered that by getting really experienced prem players (Henderson, Milner, Welbeck) amongst the unknowns they like to buy. The RS just paid £135m for Isak.
Eze, Guehi, Semenyo, Rice, etc, etc. The list is endless, if you wanna go back long enough. Let's just take Ferguson at United as one example; Carrick, Berbatov, Cole, Ferdinand, Rooney, Tevez, Van Persie, Sheringham, Cantona.. and that's just off the top of my head, for one club and one
manager.
If you want Angus Kinnear to choose players over
David Moyes, I don't know what to say. I'd rather the tail didn't wag the dog.
