2025/26 David Moyes

It might be a pile of crap to you, but then maybe you're just not in that camp? :p
Maybe. I think for myself and if I don’t like what I see I talk about it. If people don’t like it, that’s fine too, they can respond in kind. It doesn’t make me hate people though. That’s what I don’t get. Same with the managers and players. I can dislike a manager or player because I don’t think they are very good, it doesn’t mean I hate them like some seem to equate it to though.

Have to take a few exceptions here mate, though I agree with a lot of what you say.

I'm not sure the fact he's been a manager longer than Dyche means they can't be compared. I'd say the complete opposite tbh. The fact he's got an actual track record means we can compare. We could hardly sit here and compare Dyche to somebody who has managed for 2 minutes.

Sorry to say mate, but this is hyperbole and, forgive me, complete and utter bollocks. Who are these "anybody with any knowledge of modern football" people you speak of ? I don't see many ex players, pundits or managers sharing this opinion, so whom exactly are these so-called modern day football experts we should be deferring to?
Because it’s Pat on the head Everton. Mid table is fantastic for us In the media’s eyes, funny how the media weren’t so nice to him at Utd. It’s all about Standards.
Funny because Kenwright and Moyes started this little old Everton 25yrs ago. To protect themselves from the media. And it worked a treat

Breaking news mate. Man United are now a much bigger club than us. They're having the worst spell in their recent history and still rake in just shy of £500 million more than us, PER YEAR.

The rot started long before Kenwright took control. It started in the late 80's when we put minimum investment in to the stadium, and watched our best players and manager walk out the door.

David Moyes raised the standards at this club, that's why he was here for 11 years. He might not have restored us to our glory years, but he definitely raised the standards of what went before.

Are you old enough to remember us selling Keown? That was the death knell for us as a superpower within the English game. He was our best defender by a mile, and went on to be a superb player for Arsenal for over a decade. We just flogged him to rake 2 million in, and never replaced him. PSR wasn't even a twinkle in the kopites eyes.

You just carry on pretending that it was Moyes who helped drag us down though.

We’d been challenging for Europe and won a cup 2/3 yrs before kenwright turned up and he definitely helped the Rot get worse.

Moyes had us 4th once 5th, 2 times maybe. 6th and 7th a few times. 5 or 6 goes in Europe last 16 was the best he did and 22 goes in domestic cup competitions and 3x semi finals. WHAT RAISING OF STANDARDS DID MOYES SET FOR EVERTON FOOTBALL CLUB???

He may have set standards for West Ham, getting them in Europe and winning them a trophy, but not Everton.

Moyes and kenwright lowered standards. Knife to a gun fight, and we’ve had good times, a cup semi is great finishing 6th and 7th is great
Kenwright brought out a DVD for finishing 7th ffs

Get yourself off to bed son

We won a cup after that and into Europe, kenwright was also involved with Everton from 89 and bought us in 99. So he was part of it. Never said Moyes dragged us Down, I said he was happy for the narrative to be finshing 7th is a great job well done. Him and kenwright’s had the echo in thier pockets

err, if you know, you know. David Moyes was a breath of fresh air compared to the 90's and early 2000's. Joes cup win aside, the 90's was definitely our worst decade in my lifetime., well, until the Moshiri clusterduck at least.

Shockingly upper mid table is a good result for a team that had been battling relegation and finishing bottom half.

Yes it is curious why the media weren't so nice to him when he was managing the defending champions.

What utter waffle.

No, we have to stop with this kind of mentality. Have you watched Chelsea, they can barely string 2 passes together, I'm expecting a Barry/Beto hat trick tomorrow. They have a philosopher instead of a manager, he is so busy trying to think his way to a win he forgets what is actually going on in front of him, seriously nothing to fear from them tomorrow imo, I think we win 2-0 and relatively easily.
They still have some very talented players and they can make the difference in games.

For how long for is mid table considered a good result for Everton in your eyes ???

If you can’t understand the point i was making regarding the media and Everton and Utd I can’t help you.
