2025/26 David Moyes

You all dancing to Davek's fiddle again?

Not really mate. I've got time to engage Dave. Too many people on here get caught up in agendas and often find themselves in a 'camp.' I've got no time for that. I'm in camp Everton. There's many a Moyes basher on here, Dave just articulates things a lot better than the vast majority of them, so if I'm gonna engage with somebody from that 'camp' then he's as good as any place to start.

People know with Moyes there's not going to be any ceilings smashed though. That's what got him on the wrong side of fans last time around and many fans remember it only too well. He'll always see being in a respectable position with Everton as 'enough'.

He's dumbed us down more than any manager I can remember. That's the feeling most will have of Moyes: a knowledge that he represents survival and at best mediocrity. Some are ok with that, but I dont think the majority ever will be. He cant snuff out the light that many of us still believe in.

Has he dumbed us down more than the manager who repeatedly told us 17th was the best we could realistically hope for, who you backed and supported in that assertion?

...was he the one who saw millions worth of players sold on him while here rather than one who followed him who had £110M dropped in his lap to spend?

There is no camp. Just a vocal minority of lunatics.

There's definitely 'camps' mate. I'd wager good money that a lot of Moyes' detractors were once defending Dyche.

Defending Dyche is fine, I did it myself. I stated unequivocally though that Moyes' was a better manager. I'm not gonna sit here and whinge because I might have been wrong to back Dyche.

I'll get back to you if we lose the next game.
So you can’t. Great.

If we lose to Chelsea, it’s not like we have lost to non league amateurs. We would have lost to the team that you think is going to be challenging for the title within the next 2 seasons. So a very good team. If you can only point to these swathes of fans after losing that, then they probably need a reality check really.

He is a better manager than Dyche his record shows that but then he has also been a manager for nearly twice as long so comparing them is a bit silly really. For me I just don't rate British managers, they are all the same it doesn't matter who it is. They have the same strengths and the same weaknesses. Howe is probably the best of the bunch but I could still probably list 10 reasons why I wouldn't want him here. The whole 'camps' thing does exist I agree but its nonsense imo, for me I follow Everton Football Club and that's it. Players and managers come and go all the time and I'm not arsed either way about them tbh. I refuse to be forced into liking any manager or player which does seem to happen on here a fair bit and its wrong imo. Calling people 'lunatics' because they don't like David Moyes is just attention seeking and its bang out of order (do bare in mind we have a pinned mental health thread on this forum) Id say there about 4 or 5 posters on both sides of the argument and they are all as bad as each other. Anybody with any knowledge of modern day football and how clubs work knows Moyes is not the long term option and he seemingly only has another season left so we might as well let him ride it out imo.

Go and take a look at this thread after we lost to Bournemouth and United in successive games.

No, we have to stop with this kind of mentality. Have you watched Chelsea, they can barely string 2 passes together, I'm expecting a Barry/Beto hat trick tomorrow. They have a philosopher instead of a manager, he is so busy trying to think his way to a win he forgets what is actually going on in front of him, seriously nothing to fear from them tomorrow imo, I think we win 2-0 and relatively easily.

Have to take a few exceptions here mate, though I agree with a lot of what you say.

I'm not sure the fact he's been a manager longer than Dyche means they can't be compared. I'd say the complete opposite tbh. The fact he's got an actual track record means we can compare. We could hardly sit here and compare Dyche to somebody who has managed for 2 minutes.

Sorry to say mate, but this is hyperbole and, forgive me, complete and utter bollocks. Who are these "anybody with any knowledge of modern football" people you speak of ? I don't see many ex players, pundits or managers sharing this opinion, so whom exactly are these so-called modern day football experts we should be deferring to?

I have been critical of both, I wanted Dyche gone and I wanted Moyes in. Doesn’t mean I can’t be critical of him though and yeah sometimes I find some of his decisions odd. Do I overreact yes, but it’s only because I love the club and I want to see the club winning things again. I will also praise him when it’s due. Sorry but the whole you’re either in this camp or that camp is a pile of cr@p to me.

It might be a pile of crap to you, but then maybe you're just not in that camp? :p

Think it’s the other way around, the dyche fans absolutely love Moyes and think we can’t do better
I hated dyche and not a huge fan of Moyes.
