2025/26 David Moyes

Shockingly upper mid table is a good result for a team that had been battling relegation and finishing bottom half.

Yes it is curious why the media weren't so nice to him when he was managing the defending champions.

What utter waffle.
Also Joe Royle took over a team with one win in a 3rd of the season, got us to safety, won a trophy and the following year he got us 6th which would have been 5th and Europe, had Arsenal not scored in
The last minute

I have been critical of both, I wanted Dyche gone and I wanted Moyes in. Doesn’t mean I can’t be critical of him though and yeah sometimes I find some of his decisions odd. Do I overreact yes, but it’s only because I love the club and I want to see the club winning things again. I will also praise him when it’s due. Sorry but the whole you’re either in this camp or that camp is a pile of cr@p to me.
I agree with this. I would hope we can find a better manager than Moyes. But it won't be easy. I just find the majority of criticism of him completely naive/childish. And it pushes me to continually defend him to go against the BS narrative that some people push.

For how long for is mid table considered a good result for Everton in your eyes ???

If you can’t understand the point i was making regarding the media and Everton and Utd I can’t help you.

Mate, we’ve just come off the back of three relegation seasons, with Benitez nearly destroying the club in the process and a clueless owner, who was pretty much prepared to sell us to anyone.

I think at least one season of stability and book balancing isn’t too much to ask for in the grand scheme of things.

Because it’s Pat on the head Everton. Mid table is fantastic for us In the media’s eyes, funny how the media weren’t so nice to him at Utd. It’s all about Standards.
Funny because Kenwright and Moyes started this little old Everton 25yrs ago. To protect themselves from the media. And it worked a treat
This is a classic example of what I'm talking about. Everton were in relegation battles every year before Moyes arrived. We had been a joke of a club for a long long time. He built a very good team and made us the best of the rest for a prolonged period.

Not disagreeing, I’m just asking the question and plenty of teams and managers have turned things around quickly before. We can’t keep
Saying we’ve been in relegation scraps, which we weren’t in last season or the year before, even with the points deduction we were never in any danger

Even with a 8 point deduction we finished 14 points clear in 23/24 , we were never in any danger that season. We’d have finished 5th every season had we been the best of the rest and we didn’t. Not that long as we’d won a trophy and Royle built a good side only 5/6 yrs before

I’m sure then it won’t be a problem for Moyes to beat a couple of City, Chelsea, Brentford & Liverpool.

The odds are against it but perhaps those wins will give him the confidence to go for a couple of victories.🤞

David Moyes has a record of W45 D58 L131 in the Premier League against Big Six opponents in his managerial career so 0.8 points per game.

The other potential problem is that we only got 2 points from the other remaining games against Spurs, Sunderland & West Ham earlier this season. ☹️

I assume Roma would have priority over us in Europe & they are currently in a Conference league place. ☹️☹️

Why would they?
