Yeah, he was, but he's also the manager that sustained that level of performance from the team. 3 years after Joe won the cup we avoided relegation by the skin of our teeth. Moyes never really had us out of the top half for his last 6 seasons here.

We spent a massive amount of money at the time. The transfer record was only £7m and we spent £5.5m on Kanchelskis and £4m on Ferguson. It was a completely different time.

Was slightly tongue in cheek, but it is very important to some people. Pull them up for talking crap, but don't deny them their opinion and right to voice it. Just my opinion.

It was a relagation squad, we survived on the last day the year before, then didn’t win untill West Ham the following season in like game 13 or something like that, it’s over a 3rd of the season. Royle bought Earl barret that season and Kanchelskis and Craig short in the summer. Duncan was at the club when Joe came in. Also the following season Duncan only played 18 games and Kanchelskis missed games as well, after getting injured on his debut.
Moyes has got a totally different squad to what dyche had 2 yrs ago and spent 130mil last summer

Of course it was nothing to do with Joe. Who knows what would have happened if he'd not left? It was just another clusterduck decision that royally screwed us during that period. The cup win was a welcome boost, but we weren't acting like a club that was gonna continue that level of success.
I'd have loved nothing more than for Joe to stay on. It broke my heart when he left, and I'm convinced he'd never have led us that scenario of relegation battles with proper backing. The whole club was a joke at that point though. The RS were attracting loads of Everton kids because we were making the kids get changed in an abandoned factory in Netherton. The club had gone to crap, and we didn't have a pot to pee in.
Joe leaving was just another example of what a crapshow we'd become.
