Forgive me if I don't think Patterson is anywhere near good enough for Everton. He didn't do anything bad in that short run, but I don't think he did anything good either. It'd be a matter of time. I'm inclined to believe they are right that Aznou isn't physically ready to play at left back, but you're right that he looked capable against Sunderland, I don't know what's going on with him being omitted completely.

I think that still counts as not great.
But we can’t conjure up great options out of mid-air, between transfer windows, can we?

What we *can* do is provide the kind of balance that playing natural FBs brings, and in so doing free up space for our best CB to play CB, our best CM to play CM and for our ailing wingers/forwards to get some sorely needed attacking support.

In the Summer, finally, belatedly we can look at upgrading our options.
 
Can't disagree with that, first time he played there I said he's our best left back.

Similarly Garner is out best right back, doesn't mean either player should be playing in those positions though.

The difficulty is they are both international class in the positions they’ve moved from.

The full back issue is damning and likely to undermine the whole season mate!
