2025/26 David Moyes

If you think Moyes had any say on the signings of Dibling or Aznou then you really don't know the guy at all. He may say he has final say but that is for ready made 1st teamer's (Grealish, KDH, etc..). It is why he is under no obligation to play them unless they are good enough. We may see more of Dibling next season but Aznou was bought for post Moyes. We hope to have more Aznou like signings this summer again for post Moyes. This summer Moyes again will get a couple of 1st teamers through loans, frees or cheap with maybe 1 marquee signing. The club will probably get another few youngsters in and the following season (27/28) we should have 5/6 extra players ready for the 1st team when I expect a new coach to take them on. Moyes is here to keep us stable until then.
If that is true, that is nuts

The worry should be that he completely destroys the confidence of those players in the time he's here and develops a reputation for the club that we don't play youth.
It's only the summer after next. Not long at all.
The key maybe staying in the cups this time round but if we go out early again playing the youngsters then that will give us the answer they are not ready anyway.

Disagree - in my opinion, he wouldn't get in 17+ Premier League teams, so I can see why Moyes would prefer to not play him now he has the chance.

I'd also struggle to name a worse left backs in Everton's PL history, as in - any player we've played left back who I'd rather have Mykolenko over.

I'll be happy once he's moved on and I don't have to watch him any more.

Thats some beef you seem to have with the lad mate, gotta say... 🤯

No, I'm looking at it from the perspective of the owners.

Anything near mid table either direction then they'll stick with Moyes. And if you're not a fan then you can see why they would: it protects 'the asset'.
So is that you saying you think the owners think he's doing an alright job then?

Our left and right back have been absolutely dirge ever since Digne left - frustrating we’ve never tried to improve the positions when fullbacks are so important in the modern game. It makes our attack so stagnant and tepid, as we have no real overlaps and can’t create overloads - just means we either A hit a hopeful ball into the box against a set defence or B get forced backwards.

All compounded by the fact we’re not even good on the break and lack pace

I didn't want him back but he's done a good job, especially last season.

So I was ok with him seeing out his contract and he still had a lot of credit in the bank with me.

He's burnt through that in a matter of days.

Yes it's a great point, I believe we lose a lot more with Garner at right back than Patterson, Garner is a better right back, yes but we lose Garner from midfield which is nuts

To me it is like cutting your lower arm off to improve your elbow.
I don't want to scare you too much, but I'm not sure we'll be seeing Garner at right back tomorrow.
