2025/26 David Moyes

It wouldn't surprise me if he's been told he's going and is trying to position himself to look favourably if the new manger struggles.

Or trying to get himself sacked with these selections/pessers.

It is yes. Do you think the current season is the same as the few previous? If not, what are you on about? I think its a massive upgrade(even if its often frustrating to watch), and anyone talking as tho we're trudling along now like we did under the slug, Lampard or Dyche are oblivious and childish in their thinking. I never claimed we needed Moyes for the long haul.
Appologies for misreading you post as passive aggressive.

Fair points.
Again, there was context in the original conversation which - for reasons which aren't entirely clear to me - you're completely removing. The comment was about people losing hope if we had 2 more years of negative football. I just said I agreed with that, I did not at any point claim that we hadn't improved at all. There's still a very realistic prospect of us finishing lower than we have in the last 2 years though, so I think you could probably argue it was 'oblivious and childish' to make out like we've definitely had a much better season and made huge strides (although you'd have to be careful not to come across as passive aggressive).

The squad players need to improve to get a game, but when they was getting a game when his favs was suspended/injured/at AFCON they was winning games.

Gana has been crap all season, but Rohl has to improve? He's just gaslighting now.

I can't wait to be told my ST has gone up to £900 to watch players play out of position all over the pitch, to accomodate his favs to play in their positions with impunity and to get gaslit every Friday.

I think if the retain him scenario plays out, he will have a vastly reduced voice regarding transfers, which in itself would start a death spiral for him, as he won’t entertain that and he would be vocal about it. It would quickly become untenable imo.
However, I don’t think he’s the sort of manager to make bad choices with the team out of spite etc so would be interesting how it played out.

I honestly think Moyes knows he's not wanted by the majority of the club's fans - who believe we can do better.

And he'll dig in with some ferocity to spite them.

We're dealing with that sort of ego here. TFG made a mistake bringing him back. They panicked and handed the dullard a lot of control over his own fate here.

This favouring of “experience” when experience is clearly linked to age and nothing more is so frustrating, especially given that Tarks and Gana are having by far their worst seasons for us as a direct result of all that experience catching up with them.

Utterly bored of this crap now. Sick of how predictable it all is. Fully checked out until the Summer.

Who’s he talking about then? the banned JOB? If Moyes put Branthwaite back at CB like he should, that quote, “When you’re a young centre-back, you often end up playing at full-back” wouldn't've been linked to Branthwaite, the literal young cb he's playing at fb.
He's said that about centre backs playing at full back in a press conference before (I obviously can't remember which one), I think he was just likening what he said about young midfielders playing out wide to that. I can't believe he thinks Branthwaite doesn't have the physicality to play centre back, that's absurd. I reckon he just mangled it a bit.

If he is not good enough why spend £40 million on him? A progressive plan should have been put in place to ensure he was in the team regularly after 7 months. Negligent.
Exactly. The fee is the issue. I would expect someone a lot further on career wise for that money. Someone must have seen something in him from his Southampton days but its a gamble on somebody so young. If he has not kicked on yet all you can do is give him more time.

I have a feeling we may have another Moise Kean on our hands as in a late developer

So it was a general thing he said? that doesn't mean it doesn't relate to Branthwaite? Especially if he continues playing him at LB.

In Moyes' defence.

Mykolenko is absolutely terrible.

As in, really bad.
He is, but don’t you think he looks slightly better when Branthwaite’s at CB covering for him? The biggest problem with Mykolenko is he can’t really offer much going forward, and Branthwaite isn’t exactly giving you that from out wide either.
