But the original point was specifically about this season? The reply is relevant to the question. Those squads are filled with 15 / 20 internationals due to he massive money in the prem.
I also think the prem is rubbish.....the games are not a good watch at all, its hoof & kick and rush football mostly.
Its all ok using 1 season in Europe in isolation, as its not always dominated by English teams.
Great, go and see if he's still on the train and let him know.I thought the complete opposite, i thought Bournmouth where dreadful
It's explained by the fact that the overall standard of European football right now has fallen off a cliff. Real Madrid and Barcelona aren't remotely at previous levels when Guardiola, Mourinho, Luis Enrique, Zidane, and Ancelotti were at the helm. Bayern, with few top-class German internationals (because German football is in the toilet), are flat-track bullies who will be found out in the last 8. There's no Klopp figure doing bits at another German club. Italian football fell off a cliff 15 years ago and hasn't recovered. We're a long way from the days of Lippi's Juventus, Capello's Milan, or Paolo Maldini now. PSG are an artificial construct. French football is in the gutter.
That said, many of the English sides will hit a wall when they play some of the above in the knockouts. The stresses and strains of the financially doped Premier League always exact a toll.

Haha, brave man.Nice positive words by Moyes today.
Deffo wanting a new contract and right now on balance the guy deserves one.
(I’ll get me tin hat on quick! )
Couldn’t disagree more tbh. It used to be kick and rush decades ago. If anything there is too much passing around from the back.
English teams now dominate Europe, have been the dominant force for a while now.
Great, go and see if he's still on the train and let him know.
Because the global shift in football playing style has been towards the functional and the athletic, meaning all leagues have dipped. By definition, the league that has been the closest to that in style would do better. As they have bigger finances due to insane commercial deals, the PL sides can also spend more in acquiring these functional athletes. How do you explain all 9 English teams still being in Europe then?
5 of the top 8 in the champions league
Favourites for europa and conference
Teams in the bottom 3 containing £40m players
Nah not feeling that mate, the games are terrible to watch in the main....defending is terrible...technique is terrible from most the teams....any midfielder that shows any skill and puts foot on the ball...we rave about them.
Yes although many sit back....they counter with hoof and run.
English teams have not dominated as much as you think, its worse this season than it has for years - The new format makes it worse.
Absolutely nailed it there DricoIt's explained by the fact that the overall standard of European football right now has fallen off a cliff. Look at us since Jack's been out though.James definitely flattered to deceive. Overall I don't think he improved us greatly over a long period.
My point being, big name glamorous players do are not a magic bullet.
