This is why slow rebuilds rarely work. If you aren't showing urgency to get better, and you don't get European football, then the handful of good players you have can get unsettled and want to move on.
We have too few good players right now to lose them. Especially with our recruitment still not being up to standard.
The league is not strong this year and this was a chance to push on. Win a couple more of these home games and we're right there but we keep throwing away good opportunities.
We need to tick every box in the summer window to show our good players we are ready to compete. That means 2 good full backs, a midfielder and above alll a goalscorer.
Players will probably want to go in the summer and who can blame them?
Those misused, whether out of position or dropped at random. Also those with quality seeing stupid selections and poor management & thise who want european football...
...i suspect a number will want to leave.
I do hope someone asks him soon about some of these team choices. They are becoming baffling no matter how you feel about the manager. Aznou not getting a sniff, Patterson having some decent performances and then getting dropped, Rohl having a superb game at Villa, hasn’t had a minute of football since. Very confusing
Said the same, he doesnt pick players on merit. When you take that stance, who will put in the effort knowing that it wont be rewarded?
Gana + Keane on the pitch makes no sense and nor does
KDH at 10 or Obrien at RB.
Negative manager and its a surprise when we take opportunities. Back to normal tonight.
O'Brien is a much better defender than Tarkowski, who is showing his age and stupidity - barging into the back of players.
if we do have players of quality in other areas then Alcaraz, Dibling, Ireogbunam, Rohl have to come into the equation. But he has underutilised them this season. The reason why?Is baffling to say the least, considering our home form this season. He needs to tell our players that can dribble Ndiaye, Alcaraz and Dibling to go hunt the ball and create. But he doesn't he seems to insist that Ndiaye and Dibling stay on the wing. Much like he does with Grealish. But that doesnt always work as weve witnessed at home, so it hinders them as creative players.
Moyes may well be on borrowed time and it'll be his own football limitations that will seal his fate.
He's always had a weak spot with line ups when he has players available and options.
Needs an injury crisis or suspensions...or even players being sold to actually find his best 11.
Got his favourites and before AFCON didnt integrate
Aznou or
Dibling with on pitch development.
Rohl and Alcaraz the same really.
I think if it was me, id be having a lot of transfer activity again this summer and removing a few of his mates from the squad
