2025/26 David Moyes

Definitely the most frustrating result of the season for me and there's been a few. Just feels like confirmation we're not going to be able to put any big run together to push on. Realistically it was always going to be like that but doesn't make it any less frustrating.

This is why slow rebuilds rarely work. If you aren't showing urgency to get better, and you don't get European football, then the handful of good players you have can get unsettled and want to move on.

We have too few good players right now to lose them. Especially with our recruitment still not being up to standard.

The league is not strong this year and this was a chance to push on. Win a couple more of these home games and we're right there but we keep throwing away good opportunities.

We need to tick every box in the summer window to show our good players we are ready to compete. That means 2 good full backs, a midfielder and above alll a goalscorer.

Players will probably want to go in the summer and who can blame them?

Those misused, whether out of position or dropped at random. Also those with quality seeing stupid selections and poor management & thise who want european football...

...i suspect a number will want to leave.

I do hope someone asks him soon about some of these team choices. They are becoming baffling no matter how you feel about the manager. Aznou not getting a sniff, Patterson having some decent performances and then getting dropped, Rohl having a superb game at Villa, hasn’t had a minute of football since. Very confusing

Said the same, he doesnt pick players on merit. When you take that stance, who will put in the effort knowing that it wont be rewarded?

Gana + Keane on the pitch makes no sense and nor does KDH at 10 or Obrien at RB.

Negative manager and its a surprise when we take opportunities. Back to normal tonight.

O'Brien is a much better defender than Tarkowski, who is showing his age and stupidity - barging into the back of players.
if we do have players of quality in other areas then Alcaraz, Dibling, Ireogbunam, Rohl have to come into the equation. But he has underutilised them this season. The reason why?Is baffling to say the least, considering our home form this season. He needs to tell our players that can dribble Ndiaye, Alcaraz and Dibling to go hunt the ball and create. But he doesn't he seems to insist that Ndiaye and Dibling stay on the wing. Much like he does with Grealish. But that doesnt always work as weve witnessed at home, so it hinders them as creative players.
Moyes may well be on borrowed time and it'll be his own football limitations that will seal his fate.

He's always had a weak spot with line ups when he has players available and options.

Needs an injury crisis or suspensions...or even players being sold to actually find his best 11.

Got his favourites and before AFCON didnt integrate Aznou or Dibling with on pitch development.

Rohl and Alcaraz the same really.

I think if it was me, id be having a lot of transfer activity again this summer and removing a few of his mates from the squad

Hes an utter nincompoop

Joe Thomas also blaming the players who have no incentive to do well under this manager.

He picks the wrong line ups, makes daft subs and then expects what? Perhaps he should setup teams to win games?

the complete unwillingness to try anything different but stick michael keane on with 2 mins to go was infuriating

yes down to 10 but bournemouth werent going to attack. why did gana play 90 when we have 3 very dynamic central midfield options in rohl, iroegbunam and armstrong? why can’t dibling get a sniff? why not try alcaraz who always creates something?

so frustrating

Its because for the second time in as many seasons bournemouth have stolen points from us in a 7 minute spell. This is extremely rare in football for an opponent to do that and in both fixtures its extremely difficult to explain the fortune that the opponent has had.

Its not like the Brentford game where we were outplayed, or the leeds game a tale of two halves. Or the newcastle game where we were slow out the blocks and hit on the counter.

This one cant really be explained. We have played well and looked in full control and in a 7 minute period find ourselves a goal down and a player down and all hope lost from absolutely nothing.

I’ve got to be honest, I thought it was a poor game that we never had control of.
First half was pretty even. 2nd half we started well but the alarm bells were ringing to the extent even Moyes was readying a double change.

Wasn’t a game I felt we particularly deserved to win. (When they beat us 2-3 last season, it was an absolute robbery)

Come on, Zat. Barry does his job and we probably go on to win the game comfortably.

I maintain that he could've played the perfect line up every week in the forum's eyes and it's likely we wouldn't be any more than 2 places higher. This squad just isn't good enough.

Played our best stuff when we went down to 10 men. No idea what Bournemouth were doing tbh.

The fact (and i do think its a fact) is that his lineups make no sense.

In addition players are not being selected on merit.

Results are one thing, performances another but there are clear improvements he seems to be ignoring to use his favourites.

Aslong as we dont have Fbs and a decent striker, what ever lineup we throw out on here will still be carrying the same issues.

We were all thinking Aznou would be rubbish but he showed Moyes up. Very highly rated player.

Patterson gives us an actual right back.

Should be using both of these players at home.

We can put out good teams. For some inexplicable reason Moyes chooses to put the handbrake on.
