2025/26 David Moyes

I just think our full backs and strikers are such a massive drop off from the quality we have in other areas. Those players belong at clubs in the relegation zone and you can't get away with it all the time in a league like this which has very few easy games.

I'd be more than happy to see Patterson and Aznou start home games and get us playing more on the front foot. Obviously realise could be a disaster but it would be great to see O'Brien and Mykolenko not in the team.
O'Brien is a much better defender than Tarkowski, who is showing his age and stupidity - barging into the back of players.
if we do have players of quality in other areas then Alcaraz, Dibling, Ireogbunam, Rohl have to come into the equation. But he has underutilised them this season. The reason why?Is baffling to say the least, considering our home form this season. He needs to tell our players that can dribble Ndiaye, Alcaraz and Dibling to go hunt the ball and create. But he doesn't he seems to insist that Ndiaye and Dibling stay on the wing. Much like he does with Grealish. But that doesnt always work as weve witnessed at home, so it hinders them as creative players.
Moyes may well be on borrowed time and it'll be his own football limitations that will seal his fate.

He's like a 62 year old petulant child.

Seem to be playing Everton alot..

I think what infuriated the most about tonight is Moyes’ comments in the press conference about, apart from Grealish, having a fully fit squad. And we saw tonight how he used this “fully fit squad” to impact the game. A bizarre early entrance for Beto and a CM on the wing when it’s 1-1. And the coup de grace of launching Big Mick K up top for the last 3 mins. That was it. Utterly depressing and entirely predictable for a manager who does not have a clue how to win a game at home.
Armstrong has to be coming on for Gana, not a bleeding winger.
Though Gana shouldn't ever be starting to have to come off..

Can't fault Armstrong for it tho.

Absolutely churchillian there.

Quickest ever one i think

Well this is what happens when you drop players to shoehorn in your favourites.

Well, if the Friedkins are more ambitious than he is, perhaps. No evidence of that, though.

He really could have gone a long way towards getting an extension with a win tonight. Hard to argue with us sitting sixth and having momentum. Now, however, it looks like he has split his skull once more on his glass ceiling with United, City, Chelsea, and Liverpool still to visit. In a tight league, we could start to fall away to 12th or 13th really quickly. Small margins. I'd give him an extension if he made Europe. I'd shake his hand otherwise. And trust we could get in an upgrade.

But that depends on the Friedkins being ambitious and competent. Not sure the evidence is there for either of those assumptions however...

Spot on ;)

Why buy players if you are unwilling to give them a decent run in the side ? How are they supposed to adapt if they are taken out at the nearest opportunity for players who, let’s face it, don’t exactly have a spotless performance record either.

A lot was built up in the run up to last summer, how important it was and so far , a fair amount of that money hasn’t been well spent .

We are again talking about another big summer for this year and it’s no wonder there is a lack of restraint in showing frustration from some fans because it just seems to be similar situations time and again. It creates pessimistic feelings and cynicism.

At home, When the onus is on us to take the game to teams we seem incapable of doing it or managing to sustain it for a large period of a game or even half. It maybe a brand new home and things to get used to but you have to give the fans things to be excited about whilst they are watching.

Playing away suits our manager because the onus is on the home team to make things happen and when it’s us we are found wanting most of the time.
