Carlo was poor as well in that 2nd half of the season, but there were factors that went against him and the team. No, but you're making excuses for Ancelotti finishing 10th after (by your admission) having us 2nd at Christmas.
If Moyes had similar excuses (with a worse squad), would you accept them as mitigation if we dropped down 4 or 5 places from here?
I'm not saying he is the best manager in the world. I'm just saying I don't think any manager would have us on a significantly higher points total than we have now with the group of players we have and the injuries/AFCON etc. Do you the season we finished 4th/5th a different manager would have had us higher? Because I don't.No, what I mean is that saying "there isn't a manager in world football who would have achieved more with us this season" is an enormous leap. I shouldn't have used the word "demonstrably" as it's actually fairly subjective.
I'm largely very pro-Moyes in our current situation and stage of development, but saying he's literally the best man in the entire world for the current job at Everton and that nobody in the world could have possibly achieved more is way too far for my taste - I doubt even Moyes thinks that.
I think he's probably the *right* man for where we are given the context, but the best in the entire world? Not for me.

That's why you're so cross all of the time. That makes sense. I'd be fuming if I lived in Stansted. Fair dues, my thoughts and prayers are with you, Kev.Where do you live pal? Asia I believe. I live on the Herts/Essex border and have loads of friends who support West Ham. Also lots of Spurs and Arsenal. Gives a good perspective.
We're in agreement then. The upside of any other manager would be tiny and the downside would be potentially catastrophic. But some people have hurty feelings so can't think rationally. No, I don't.
I do, however, think that there were other season Moyes was here in his first spell where another manager could possibly have had us higher.
If I take this season in isolation, do I think it's possible that another manager could have done better than he has so far? Yes, I think there's scope that this squad could have done marginally better than they have done but I'd emphasise the "marginally" but here as I think he's done slightly better than I'd have reasonably expected so far. Not by loads, but equally I don't think it would have been impossible to exceed my expectations even further for any manager on the planet
Yeah up until the past couple of weeks our bench has consisted of keepers and fifa regens.Prob because our options off the bench are crap
