2025/26 David Moyes

It's a ridiculous point. All managers when they come in fancy some players and not others. The difference is that Dyche had to sell £153million worth of players and couldn't invest that money in buying the players he did want. This is basic stuff, the fact that you are arguing about it is bizarre. I couldn't stand Dyche as a manger, but you've also got to be fair and say he was dealt a very difficult hand if he had a negative net spend of £74 million.

You're making a completely different point about re-investment.
The players Dyche picked on a regular basis were not sold from under his feet. Bar Onana. And dyche benched him on quite a few occasions anyway.
The insinuation was that Dyche couldnt do a better job because the club were selling his best players. Thats a Myth.

I mean we can't know that until the end of the season, but I think expecting 1.63ppg all season is a bit pie in the sky comparing to us doing it for just half a year last.

And also please don't say "we spent £100m" like that's an actual amount of money - in 2025 that's the equivalent of about 30p.
You're right we won't know that for sure until the end of the season, so perhaps you shouldn't haven't been so condescending with your post.

The two aren't mutually exclusive. Moyes can be a better manager than Dyche and Dyche can have managed the club under a completely different set of financial circumstances to Moyes. Maybe nuance isn't your strong point.
They managed pretty much the same squad last season and the difference was massive.

Your grasping at straws. Are you seriously trying to argue that Dyche couldn't have done a better job if he'd of had £74 million to spend, let alone a positive spend of plus £120 million?

You're just repeating the same thing.
Dyche first 11 were crap. What makes you think any investement given would have been any different lol.
He's got a £450m invested squad at Forest and he's struggling to get them away from the bottom 3.

Really? It still doesn't change the fact that Dyche was operating under a completely different set of financial circumstances to the ones that Moyes is operating in and that is a valid point to make. Dyche also got 49 points with a massive negative net spend. Personally I don't give a monkey's about Dyche, I think he's a pretty average manager and I'm glad he's not managing us anymore. But he was still massively financially constrained in how he could manage us. That's just a simple statement of fact.

Would Dyche get more out of this squad than Moyes given there's been 100m spent on new players?
That is not a question that I would be interested in finding out the answer to. For the simple reason Dyche played absolutely shocking football and I was glad when he left. Also let's be absolutely clear I'm not arguing that Dyche is a better manager than Moyes, I don't think he is. I just don't think Moyes is that good either.

You're completely correct. I for one thought he was doing as good a job as he could do in the circumstances. But then Moyes came in and completely blew that theory out of the water.

Who do you think is good? Moyes did incredibly well with us in his first spell.
