2025/26 David Moyes

We're unbeaten in 5 so his team selections at the aren't up for debate.
We have more draws than anyone else in the league since he returned. And of those unbeaten in last 5, 2 of them are home draws vs wolves and Leeds.

We have also gone behind in each of the last 3 games, and barely had a shot in the first halves. You can quite easily debate his team selections for that alone.

And don’t get me wrong, I’m a supporter of Moyes and think he has done a good job since returning. But his team selections to start games have been poor recently.

Yes and no. I've not necessarily agreed with them, but I don't think it's the selections themselves which have led to poor performances. In both of the last two games we've played poorly in the 1st half but then played well in the 2nd half with no changes made.

Tactically he is getting it wrong then. Either setting up to defend the first half before allowing to play, or not getting the players prepared properly to start the game on the front foot.

All the goals in the last 3 have come after his 70 minute substitution alarm as well.

Not at home we aren't, we've regressed. We haven't won there in 2 months.
We really haven't. We've just remained constantly crap. We won five pathetic home games last season. We're currently on four. As crap as we are at home, I think we'll cobble together a few more wins to keep our crap average going and beat our worst record. In the last three years we've won five, eight and six. Sounds like our terrible form goes way deeper than Moyes.

From 7th to 18th in the Premier League, there’s barely anything in it. So all this “we should beat Brighton away easily” or Fulham are a banker chat is nonsense. Moyes has done what he always does: he’s got us leading that group of broadly similar teams. Anyone still constantly having a pop at him like they’ve got all the answers needs to have a word with themselves.

Our remaining games at home….

Bournemouth
Manure
Burnley
Chelsea
Liverpool
City
Sunderland

Based on our home performances and the way we are set up…. It’s going to be difficult getting many more wins.

Rely on our away form for now

If he had made the right decisions I would argue we would be in the top 5 on well over 40+ points.

A last ditch away win at Fulham and a lucky away draw at Brighton does not change that.

Yes I am baffled by it, as I disagree with him, it doesn’t make sense to me. Does that make sense to you or can you not understand it???
To have this as your expectation for this season is completely bonkers mate. We’ve been battling relegation for years and haven’t been able to spend because of the stadium and ffp. Can’t believe the short memories some on here have. Do you know how hard it is to consistently get results in this league? Since Moyes joined he has the 6th best record in the league, when he took over from Dyche I wouldn’t have believed that was possible.

Pretty obvious to me that playing away we can counterattack. But at home because we are still a work in progress, we dont really have the quality to break teams down, when they sit back and do similar. Also, you don't know what the psychological affect of moving to a new stadium is having, on home performances

I’m personally fine with David Moyes staying until the end of his contract, the football can be dire at times, but after the past 5 years, short-term stability where no one fears a relegation battle isn’t the worst outcome. After that, we can bring in someone more progressive, like our own Emery-type manager, to actually push the club forward.

Burley and Bournemouth are both very winnable as is Sunderland (seeing as they've failed to beat us in open play twice this season) and I'd not be surprised to see us get a result for one of the others. Mau td are legitimately dreadful and I've seen worse Everton teams beat better RS teams. Plenty still to play for at home imo mate.

I have constantly said that yes we are seeing progress which is ‘fine’. It’s much better than being on 20ish points and ready for a tense last few months of the season.

It wasn’t my expectation at the start of the season whatsoever. But look at the opportunities missed and the dropped points.

Progress is fine…. But based on all the other results which keep on going our way, if we don’t manage to compete for European places this season then it is a missed opportunity. Whether we are ready for it or not…
