2025/26 David Moyes

We're unbeaten in 5 so his team selections at the aren't up for debate.

Even if in the last 3 of those games we've looked completely out of sorts in the first half? Villa was a great away performance with a depleted XI. Wolves was a car crash from start to finish.

I get your point to a degree. But results in isolation doesn't change the problems people are seeing with their own eyes.

The thing with Moyes is that he's a divisive figure.

No one denies he's capable of getting us (for however long) a respectable mid table position, but there'll always be an undercurrent about him for very obvious reasons:

1/ his failure to secure silverware having been here so long

2/ his inability to coach a team to be proactive or possess the ball during games

3/ his past betrayals

“ no one denies “

but you do

i’m crying at 3 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

your saying it like your some judge and trying to sentence him

that he's a divisive figure.

The way some were going on in the match thread yesterday you would think we were in a relegation scrap.

No I dont. I'm always very up front about his mediocrity. You get safety - and if that's what motivated you to support Everton then fill your boots.

It has been a bit more than safety though hasn't it. During his first stint here we were often seen as the best of the rest we could just never get over the line and be in regular champions league contention. You can blame Moyes for that and you may be right to an extent but the chairman should take most of the blame.

It’s a great point mate, we’ve very rarely posted a 90 min performance.

Our games follow a familiar rhythm - passive in the first half, often falling behind, then left chasing the game.

We have to try and break that cycle.

It also asks a broader question of the squad IMO.

i know it’s GOTs way to amplify these voices for ridicule, but there really are very very few posters going nuts at the manager and shouting about sacking. Minimal.

Same way there are thankfully only a few who seem to love him and have a mental block around why any fellow fan might not really like him.

Basically my point is can @chicoazul take them all away to a special thread so they can shout at each other and both be wound up endlessly?

Exactly this. It’s been a pleasant few hours treating the megamouths to a taste of their own medicine and hoping they recognise themselves in the mirror.

On your last point I refer you to #TAA26, freshly set up yesterday to snare as many as possible.

And as an Evertonian that's the very definition of mediocrity.

Moyes had his one and only chance here to become a special manager in 2009 when we faced Chelsea in that final and got ourselves in front. Other managers of second favourite teams in finals have managed to conjure up wins from those positions, but Moyes froze. Same as he froze in the SF v Liverpool when we went a goal up.

He's mediocrity personified for us. Just not good enough. And I think all those years he told us we were lucky to be a top flight club and compared us to a knife at a gunfight worked it's way into the DNA of the club to act against us winning anything.

His period here has undermined our identity. That - and his very obvious disgraceful insults about Everton when he left - is unforgivable if you're an Evertonian...or should be.
