2025/26 David Moyes

What Moyes has done is what he said in his first presser after taking over from Dyche. That he hated looking at the table with Everton being near the relegation zone and wanted the club to be looking at Europe. He literally said it.
From an outsiders perspective he's taken a team sitting one place out of the relegation zone to an outsiders chance of Europe in 12 months.
From the inside you rip the guts out of that because he's David Moyes and not exciting enough.
There's an argument to say he's done to well in those 12 months. He's raised expectation now. Happens a lot at clubs. Anyone notice on this forum that a Europe thread appeared yesterday. This is a forum that had a relegation thread constantly being refreshed on here for about the past 5 years.
Marmite Moyes.

….i really don’t get the confusion over the RB situation, it’s not difficult to understand.

He plays O’Brien because he believes he’s a superior option than Patterson. I happen to agree, I think Patterson is a defensive liability so I understand why it’s done. O’Brien is also a genuine threat in the opposition box, as we saw yesterday. You might disagree but that situation won’t change until we acquire a conventional RB with better quality. Hope that helps.

Not sure if Gueye was POY and PPOY last season, he’s just come back from being outstanding in AFCON. I think his stats are still amongst the best in the league. Moyes wants him on the pitch at this current time. Be patient, we have Armstrong, Rohl and Iroegbunam to transition into his spot in the not too distant future. He’s a fabulous player, enjoy him whilst you can.

Keane played because they are managing Branthwaite’s game time. It’s testament to Keane that we played half a season without truly missing Branthwaite, who’d have thought he’d be such a decent back-up.

None of this is complicated, thankfully the manager knows what he’s doing :bye: By the way, we won yesterday.
No confusion whatsoever and I completely disagree with you.

We look a much better balance side when we have ‘proper’ full backs playing.

Patterson did nothing wrong in his 2 games (I think it was in total) playing, and we even had a threat down the right hand side. Yes better crossing needed, but beats JOB not getting past the half way line.

Again you are only going off what has happened last season or the one before in the limited times Patterson has been given a chance.

As is the same in the midfield…. Rohl gets dropped after a great game against Villa, Armstrong is played out of position to accommodate Gana, even Garner doesn’t play as well when he’s next to Gana.

Of course none of it is complicated…. You just seem to have it all wrong.

O’Brien is a threat in the opposition box…. You do know he can also do that from CB position. Revolutionary I know. Best CB pairing would be JB and JOB.

We're unbeaten in 5 so his team selections at the aren't up for debate.

…sorry, you said you were ‘baffled’ by those decisions when they are totally understandable, even if you disagree 😄

Fortunately he’s making the right calls, he might just know what he’s doing.

If he had made the right decisions I would argue we would be in the top 5 on well over 40+ points.

A last ditch away win at Fulham and a lucky away draw at Brighton does not change that.

Yes I am baffled by it, as I disagree with him, it doesn’t make sense to me. Does that make sense to you or can you not understand it???

Most clubs don’t have the depth to compete in the league cup and the league. When you get to the quarters on the superclubs bring their first teams to bear.

I think the League Cup should be some kind of under 21 tournament with maybe up to three seniors allowed or something.

Europe is different its big money and more prestige. The League Cup doesn’t generate good income for the club.
Anyonein Europe isn’t entered, the winner qualifies for Europe.

Marmite Moyes.
people are upset because getting to the position you thought you would be happy at, still means you don’t win every game you ever play.

Agreed buddy Moyes is famously terrible in European competition for all his clubs.

Imagine waking up on a Sunday morning and thinking what’s the first thing I need to do today ?

“ I know I’ll log onto GOT and start posting shiz
about David Moyes

All because I got made to look like a massive bellend, stamping my feet up and down like a three year old and demanding his head, when we were one nil down 🤷‍♂️

….of course we’ll all disagree on selections but I understand where Moyes is coming from, makes perfect sense to me, fella.

Picking holes in his team selections while we're on an unbeaten run.

Genuinely my dogs are more clued up than some of them.

Mate, if you've got all the answers why aren't you doing it yourself?

It’s this type of approach and posters which wins GOT all the awards and jigsaw accolades.

I am very much fascinated by the human that makes a quick judgement call and then steadfastly sticks to that opinion even in the face of overwhelming evidence that they’re wrong. Be it soccer, politics or in particularly food opinion.
