2025/26 David Moyes

Think he might give Gana a rest next week, so a chance for Rohl to get some more minutes as Moyes clearly likes him.

Hope he keeps Armstrong in as I can’t really see any good reason to send him back out on loan.

Our bench has been embarrassingly short last few weeks so we need to keep our strong players available.
Even considering sending Armstrong out on loan again makes no sense: do we honestly feel we wont have any injuries the west of the year?

Do you not agree that we are currently seeing season on season improvement though? Of course we've had annoying games where we should have done better, every team does, even the best. But visible progress is being made and I'm not expecting miracles in 1 year considering the state we was left in after Moshiri and Dyche etc
Improvement over the Moshiri era yes. I think what really bugs me is how pathetic we have been at home and how quickly we have given up the home fortress mentality due to puzzling team selections and lack of direction apparently coming from the sideline...second half of Wolves game was a classic example. Moyes is a master at setting up a team to not lose away from home...very much like Dyche or Allerdyce before him. It would just be nice to see the other side of football every now and then😊

Yeah well that is always my fear with Patterson. But I think I'm getting to the point where I'd take the hit on Patterson being at right back to keep O'Brien alongside Tarkowski. Whatever you make of Patterson, he's (1) an actual right back and (2) he's been very unlucky with injuries and (3) he's young enough to improve his game and value. And lastly (4) by playing him you're giving him a chance to earn a move to a more suitable club in the summer, assuming he doesn't drastically improve and makes a case to stay.
Patterson has done well since back in , so should keep his place , I'm not a fan of his but should stay there unless injured, starts playing crap or we actually sign a rightback

We do need to be careful not to just lurch back in the direction of saying everything's wonderful after another hard fought away win. It was a really good performance and result, but we know we have that in us, it doesn't really move the dial much for me. The league is really bizarre this year and the opportunity is there for us to do something, fingers crossed we start to put a few results together and make that a real possibility. We do also have to acknowledge that if Brighton win tonight we'll be back in the bottom half and have gone out of both cups with a whimper, so things are still very much in the balance.

It's been lousy for years. The quality has diminished dramatically.

When you get a rancid Forest team almost relegated two seasons ago almost securing a CL spot last season you know it's a trash league.

That's why a top 10 place this season should be crucial for Moyes to get, because top half finishes really are what I've said for ages: low hanging fruit.

I think we'll do that by a few points. But we should be higher than this after the Christmas and new year games to have made that inevitable.

My solution (short of a new RB): as soon as we can we have to get Garner back in that RB position. Garner has proven he's the best RB at the club as well as one of our best CMs. When we get Gueye and KDH back in tandem Garner becomes best deployed offering us a real option as a FB who can both attack an defend.

Have a night off !!!

Absolutely nothing like dyche. As he proved when he took over from him and instantly improved every stat of wins goals and points.
And the "set up not to lose away from home" bit.
You've clearly buried your head in the sand that he has more WINS away from home than Pep, Slot, Emery, Maresca and Amorim in his 12 months back.
I mean i dont love Moyes but some of the sh!te posted about him lol.

Some interesting stats on the home form from another forum.

No question that the away form is great & setting up for away games is a Moyes strength but if we are going to make any progress he needs to find a solution in the home games.

Dyche:
last 21 home games
P21 W9 D7 L5 Pts 34

Moyes mark 2:
home games
P21 W7 D9 L5 Pts 30

24/25 P10 W3 D5 L2 Pts 14
25/26 P11 W4 D4 L3 Pts 16

I mean, there is absolutely nothing about David Moyes to make us excited or especially hopeful for the immediate future, so I get the negativity to some degree as it’s hard to get enthusiastic about a stopgap manager whose just there to steady the ship

His entire job is to be dull at the moment, that’s essentially why he’s here

If Dyche hadn’t started us into a free fall then he’d still be here doing the same job

It’s where the club is right now

We’re in a holding pattern for a few years now until we’re finally out of the hole Moshiri left us in

It’s going to be equal parts boring and frustrating

So yeah, I get why some people are going to complain about it and I don’t begrudge them it too much, especially as the past decade or so has been largely miserable and morale sapping

That being said; if we eventually kick on in a couple of years then I think the jobs that both Dyche and Moyes have done/are doing might be assessed a bit differently

Moyes is generally doing it better on account of him just being a better manager than Dyche, but ultimately their mandates are similar

Keep us in the league whilst the waters settle until someone else can come in to move things forwards

It’s not what we want right now, but it’s what we need

Why were you so happy to scrape 17th with 35 points for the past 3 years then??

Our home record has been an embarrassment for the past 6 years, as if you’re trying to gaslight us that this is a Moyes problem hahaha
