2025/26 David Moyes

I just don't see why people have such a negative take on him being manager, we play some decent stuff when we have our best players available.

YES, we clearly need to add to the squad but it's never gonna be done all in 1 or 2 windows, a guy needs time to build.

I can't complain about Everton being 10th and 4 points off 4th place after 22 games.
I havent been that negative on him snd agree on the giving him time just feel with the league is a chance of an unlikely team getting europe this season. That is what has frustrated me this season in some games when we could have pushed on and gained an advantage. Also well still have questions on him and the club not bringing in pace that we needed into the squad and the rb position still being ignored

How come when we win away HE gets the plaudits but when we play crap it's the squad, the injuries, the players? How about a little more balance? Davy didnt kick a ball today...the players worked their arses off:) If he can motivate them and come up with tactics to win games like today's, why cant he motivate the same players and come up with tactics to beat Brentford, Wolves and Sunderland at home? Beat Leeds at home Monday and we will all be happy:)

Isnt it pretty obvious now what he is and what Everton are. We're a side who can set up and keep our shape. We cant set up like today at Home as the 50 odd thousand fans want to see Everton attack at home. Ive just posted we've more away wins this
calender year than the likes of Man City and Liverpool And Chelsea. You've just sort of brushed that aside and went why cant we do it at home. If we could we'd be sitting top of the table. Im guessing however that is where your mega spending comes in. Moyes can set his team up drilled to the teeth to be hard to beat and counter attack away. At home where you need an added bit of extra attacking guile and quality your 70 or 80m signings tend to provide it. Arsenal had 4 players on the bench the other day who all cost around 350m.
We undoubtedly need a a bit more guile and quality when we are on the front foot at home. An upgrade in fullbacks is essential for that.
If you're looking for Moyes to pull it out the hat home & away you're not gona get it. He's limited as a manager and limited in squad options.
Enjoy having the best away record in the premier league over the past 12 months instead of brushing it away like its nothing.

Go watch the Leeds game, Burnley game, Spurs game, Newcastle and second half against Wolves...both cup games and get back to me:) Im as happy as anyone with today's win but ffs we overreact to bad performances?, lets not do the same with the backs to the wall wins:)

Do you not agree that we are currently seeing season on season improvement though? Of course we've had annoying games where we should have done better, every team does, even the best. But visible progress is being made and I'm not expecting miracles in 1 year considering the state we was left in after Moshiri and Dyche etc

The squad’s not in a place yet to hand it over to a better manager and push for Europe and trophies. I think we’ll be ready for that conversation a year from now. You can’t live game to game with this project right now or you’ll mess the whole thing up.

Woah, woah, woah. We don't do balanced here. Mods!

Moyes is definitely good enough at winning football matches for Everton right now, even if we might want to upgrade in a year or so.

The problem is that he is terrible at long term squad building and has been for a long time now, and we've basically said yes to him being the final word on recruitment while he's here.

There's no chance if I owned Everton I'd want to give him 100m to 'complete' our squad overhaul this summer, even if I'd be perfectly happy with him managing the team next year.

Tough one!

Tactically he out thought Emery who had no answers. I thought we actually played very similar in the home game when we let Martinez have the ball without pressing - he didn’t have a clue what to do and we’d then win second balls very quickly.

Football basics executed by the players to a high standard.

Should have really won the home game comfortably and Roger’s, Watkins had poor games then too. Coincidence?

I will say I reserve the right to rescind basically everything positive about him in this post if he puts O'Brien back at RB first chance he gets.
