Whats interesting about that is ive read a few posts saying he just sets his team up not to get beat. I mean doesnt every manager lol.
But the blueprint is surely not to concede and win games. Isnt that the whole point going into a game. Dont concede and win it.
This seasons stats of conceded goals away.
Arsenal 9
Everton 10
Man City 13
Chelsea 13
Aston Villa 16
Liverpool 18.

The home form. We need more quality. Its so obvious. But these away stats are outstanding since he came back. Everyone lords over Arsenal how hard to beat they are. Look at Everton there. 1 goal difference. And look at the spending of some of them clubs.

...why do we need more quality to get more points at home but have enough quality to win on the road? The away stats are great. We all enjoyed the surprise wins at Man Utd, Forrest and Villa...what is funny is all three of those were with JOB playing CB instead of Keane...all changes that Moyes was forced into, not the team he usually selects. Already answered this. We're not expected to play on the front foot and open teams up away. We can pick teams off on the counter and press.
You want the team to just switch from one to another. The fullbacks that sit in away games can you suddenly become roberto carlos in the home games please.

Rubbish. Lots of away wins are 0-1, even for the top teams. Keeping a clean sheet is absolutely imperative and the best way of giving yourself a chance to win. Stay in the game and take your chances when they come. It’s grown up football.

Jeez there are some dense buggars on this site...nothong wrong with 1nil away...i think my original point was Moyes sets the team up not to lose on the road...hence the occasional 1 nil win...apparently saying that about Moyes is like saying the pope is actually an atheist.

So Patterson deserves another start regardless of ones belief of ability, he brings balance. And O'Brian brings pace down the middle.

Moyes will now be really tested as choice of first team players grow. Most likely decide his future at Everton...

Difficult to do,the squad we have lacks pace and our defenders aren't the best on the ball,that is shown up when we have to be on the front foot. Try to play against Leeds the way we did against Villa and Bramley Moor will be in uproar by half time.

Have to admit, the team he selects when he has everyone available is a little concerning for me, as the changes he’s had to make have been forced on him due to injuries and suspensions.

Job wouldn’t be playing cb if Keane was available for example, what other changes wouldn’t he have made?

Cant fault the away form, it’s been brilliant, but I hope the players who have had to play continue to get a chance to show what they are capable of, in some of the positions we are currently a little light.
