2025/26 David Moyes

Understand the selection and approach tonight after conceding 4 against Brentford - need to make sure you don't concede.

I'm just not sure he has the same ability as a defensive coach as he used to have. I think he thinks he does. But ultimately we have conceded so much space in key positions this season (James Tarkowsi's mistakes notwithstanding), I'm surprised we haven't conceded more if i'm honest.

This is exactly what Moyes is as a manager, stubborn, great, useless, fails when we expect and rise up when we don’t expect. He is consistently inconsistent. Hes so frustrating.

In any block of 5-6 games we will get the good, the bad and ugly in terms of results and performances, it’s what he is.

He done a very good job since he’s been back but I’ve had enough of him now, a change must be made in the summer.

He needs to be replaced, he's sort of got anyway with it a bit tonight with the sendings off, but we were terrible before them. He's only attacking tatic is to get it out to grealish. He another of the yesterday managers bridgade.

Maybe the initial selection but to make no changes until after the Keane red card was incomprehensible. It was obvious 10 mins into the second half that the tide had turned and he just sat there watching everything turn to mud. I don't understand him at all.

But if you look at his first spell overall as the trend mate, you are on a journey from relegation fodder to Europe - eventually you hit a glass ceiling - then you’ve a decision to make. West Ham made it!

Where should we be year 1…..

We’re probably broadly on track for where we ought to be, but it’s just the opportunity loss. Why can’t we take advantage of some teams having a bad year and accelerate the process a bit instead of clinging to the lowest rung of stability as the first step.

If we came 8th with a good cup run it’s probably only a handful of better performances than 13th and out of all the cups early but almost every fan knows we’ll probably default to the latter through our own making rather than grasping the opportunity.

The leoblem then arises that by the time you become competitive there may well be an extremely good sky six again and you get locked out.

United are at their lowest ebb, so are Spurs, Chelsea are a basket case, Newcastle are spluttering, Liverpool’s having a poor season. Bournemouth are poor, Palace are wobbling, Forest are terrible, West Ham have gone. We’ve not taken advantage at all.

Honestly I don’t think we expected to be within striking distance distance of Europe year 1 of this project mate.

I think TFG brief would have set an expectation stabilise and progress - which is what’s happened.

I think we’ve had a chance of Europe (maybe we still do). But I don’t think it was part of the plan - nor do I think the squad is strong enough right now and I suspect the club doesnt either.

I think there is going to be tension Moyes and TFG this window, I think Moyes will want to chase it now, I think TFG will try keep their powder dry. I think they’d like to qualify for Europe next year. They'll want Europe to be sustainable. Rather than one year in one year out.

What we do or do t do this window will tell us a lot.

The way we came out after half time was embarrassing. Did he tell the players to sit back and stand off Wolves or did the players just get really complacent and not want to press anymore?

Woeful second hand performance and not helped by moyes refusal to change things when it wasn't working.
He still loves the underdog mentality, has no idea how to take a game to poor teams.

He will love the big games were nothing is expected of us. He can get ud between 9th-11th which is progress on previous seasons but still think we should wave goodbye in the summer.

Majorly concerned about how he’ll work long term with a recruitment team that appears focused on signing younger players.
We can’t be making concessions where Moyes signs the players he wants while the recruitment team signs theirs, that’s a recipe for ending up like West Ham.
