Dibling, 19, was replaced during Sunday’s 4-2 defeat as Moyes ripped up his game plan after a torrid first half.

It was the second time in just four Premier League starts that Dibling (above) was taken off at the break.

Moyes said: “When he’s come on to the field we are looking for a bit more.

“Tyler needs to keep improving, doing what he’s doing better and we’ll see where he goes.”

Dibling is likely to start tonight against Wolves, given Iliman Ndiaye remains at the Africa Cup of Nations with Senegal, while Kiernan DewsburyHall and Carlos Alcaraz remain injured.

But Moyes said: “In the main I will [speak to players about an early withdrawal] but I didn’t do this time, because I’ve done it a couple of times and I want him to start realising he’s not going to get an explanation for every time.

“He’s going to have to work it out for himself sometimes.”

Wolves boss Rob Edwards has seen a “bounce” around the club after they finally celebrated their first win of the season.

Wolves ended a recordworst start with Saturday’s 3-0 win against West Ham, which came days after a 1-1 draw at Manchester United.

While relegation still looks nailed on, Edwards is enjoying the mood lift.

“What we’ve seen in the last couple of weeks is more belief,” he said.

“There’s been more of a bounce around because people can see a little bit more progression.”

EVERTON (4-2-3-1): Pickford; O’Brien, Tarkowski, Keane, Mykolenko; Garner, Armstrong; Dibling, Rohl, Grealish; Beto.

WOLVES (3-4-2): Sa; S Bueno, Mosquera, Krejci; Tchatchoua, Arias, J Gomes, Mane, H Bueno; Arokodare, Larsen.

REFEREE: Tom Kirk.

Said before Dec that the festive period would separate the men from the boys and break up the league.

Score cards are in the squad buckled under the weight of it all, it’s not strong enough, fatiuqe, suspension, injury AFCON - it’s failed.

Whose fault is that? We knew the AFCON was coming for years ago- no excuse. Injuries, you can’t legislate for - but of mitigation. Suspensions - ill discipline, you have to manage that.

A mixture of bad luck, bad planning and bad management over this period. It’s been dissapointing.

However Moyes has now posted 38 games in a calendar year and returned. 59 points, that represents progress on the previous year. Personally also feel the squad was coming from a very low base of quality after years of under investment, I think that’s been telling and impactful still when number have been stretched.

Instantly the last two results have disappointing, but overall year on year we have gotten stronger - if we continue that progress another year, I’m on board.

Still a Moyes fan boy.

Nowt wrong with that.

The last two results have been very frustrating.

What I question more is why arent we finding the likes of Thiago etc? It will ridiculous if we dont do something this window - I think some teams actually will. The roulette wheel is about to spin...

Short term - Moyes aim is to make us credible again - with a full compliment of players, we will be better.

Hopefully, things will pick up soon.

Here's the quote -

He did not do that after Brentford, he said, because he wants the player to be able to work out some areas for improvement himself. Moyes said: “In the main I will [speak to players about an early withdrawal] but I didn’t do this time, because I’ve done it a couple of times and I want him to start realising he’s not going to get an explanation for every time. He’s going to have to work it out for himself sometimes why you get taken off early.

“Sometimes you’re taking them off after 70 minutes and it can be just a case of fatigue and bringing fresh legs on, but the one at half-time is obviously one that hurts because you need to realise why you are getting taken off at that time, what did you not do and what could you have done better. I hope he picks up those points.”

This does show form over a long period which is something, but I remember getting frustrated in his first spell that we had great records over 12 month periods but we couldn’t put it together over a season.

Ultimately it’s the 38 games within a season that count

I think it is more of a priority for Moyes to work things out rather than Dibling. Blaming young lads instead of yourself (as Boss) the true mark of an inept coward. Piss of you do not know how to motivate talent.

But if you look at his first spell overall as the trend mate, you are on a journey from relegation fodder to Europe - eventually you hit a glass ceiling - then you’ve a decision to make. West Ham made it!

Where should we be year 1…..

I despair that Evertonians want more of Moyes in the future. Everyone is entitled to their view, but he's turning the new stadium into a crypt with his dreadful football. Last season he had his bounce, and well done for steadying the ship but he simply cannot be the future of management and coaching at this club for much longer.
