Arteta's perforamnces against Villa and Boro were the main reason we reached the cup final that year.

The odd exception yes, but im talking about Derbies, United home & away, etc, the big teams. Against the top teams, when you want your top players to step up, IMO, he never did.

I did like Arteta, but I didnt get the love in.

I've said before that I'm told there is some doubt amongst the blokes I know that city are willing to loan lescott having been chatting again they remain of the same opinion but believe that even if city could be convinced it'd be on the basis of 100% of the wages and doubts remains (given lescott's personal terms) we could get anywhere close to matching them even in the short term. Although a certain amount of cash is certainly available in the window almost certainly for loan & wages.

This is going to sound like one of those "My nan used to clean Lescott's cousin's windows etc..."

I found out the other day that one of my neighbours (who hates me) is or was on the Everton board, for around 30 years. I have no idea how many shares he had, or if he's still there and in what capacity he was/is there, but he told my other neighbour, who I work for (this does sound daft doesn't it?) that he heard a whisper that we are infact interested in Lescott.

Just thought I'd share that. Initially I didn't think it was ever going to happen but the more I think about it the more I think it could do.

Have you not got your own patch of grass?

You have no idea how much I've fumed over patches of bloody grass.

I'm just going to grow my own anyway YINWAAA!!!

I think there is definitely interest from us in the player but whether it ever amounts to more than that is probably very dependant on city so I'm not too confident personally.

If City do want 100% of the wages covering then I can't see it happening. It would make him our highest paid player wouldn't it? No chance that would happen I don't think.
