David Moyes says Everton will not sell in order to buy in January

City have no choice. if they want him out, they will have to pay some of his wages.

I can see him taking a wage cut for a perminant transfer, as a City pay off will offset that.

By about £15k a week if it meant us giving him parity to what he's on at City, bonkers.

From what little i hear I can't see city agreeing to contribute to his wages if he left and I can't see anyway he agree to drop money to leave , why would he ? Especially as its not like their is a tournament or anything on the summer.

The only chance would be if the relationship broke down completely with Manchini as it did with Bellamy but even then I just can't see why they'd effectively push him out the door and what'd be in it for them ?

But why do city want to force him out ? He might not be first choice but he played against us and you're is away at the ACN whilst kompany has had niggles . I just seems difficult to see what's in it for them ?

dont they have an issue with financial fair play? also spurs let loads of players go on loan last year which made no sense, sometimes football clubs are a bit thick like

There was a recent article published that suggested Man City were making attempts to bring their accounts into some kind of order, I imagine that a lot of that is to do with financial fair play regulations.

City have a problem with Lescott because they know that nobody else will match his wages, and at 90k a week he is a very expensive reserve. So they have two options, get rid of him somehow, even if it involves paying a small proportion of his wages, or allow him to continue picking up 90k a week before he moves on a free in 18months time.

Keeping Lescott at 90k week, and then letting him leave on a free in 18 months time can't be that much of an attractive option. Surely they would prefer to get rid of him for a fee in the range of around 6 or 7million pounds?

I think they'd sell him and probably at a knock down fee but what would they gain from a loan ? I'm it saying thus from any insider knowledge or any rubbish like that I just mean from a basic business or footballing point of view why loan him , what's in it for them ?

I'm not sure anyone really understands the Implications of FFP yet but they certainly will be looking at moving players out but more you'd think on permanents rather than loans. Having used Bentley as their 'message' spurs have everyone running scared in a business sense so if they've loaned they'll have done it for their own benefit as much as anything and they'll ave earned from the loans or at least have had their players improving out on loan. Spurs do it very very well in my opinion,

I do see where you are coming from, as I personally feel that Man City would be insane to get rid of Lescott, especially on loan.

But in an attempt to answer your question, loaning him out would get a large part of his wages off the wage bill, and I think they will stand a better chance of selling a 31 year old, 90k a week player with dodgy knees and 12 months left on his contract in the summer if he has spent the last six months playing first team football, as opposed to him spending the next 6 months sitting idle on the bench.

I suppose this argument would be 'amplified' if City went and bought another centre-half in January.
